important PSA about when your car is smoking
like literally smoking from the engine
white and you smell pancakes? itâs the coolant. panic and pull over, but youâll live
a slight blue tinge? itâs the oil. panic and pull over, but youâll live
grey, looks like fire smoke? gasoline; the most combustable and dangerous. pull over and leave the vehicle, pray.
sharing because i didnât know this when my car started smoking white yesterday and i was so afraid for my life.
Reblogging because a dear friend of my Moms with mechanic experience told me the same thing when I got my license.
This would have been helpful earlier this week when my coolant was leaking, though I didnât wind up seeing any smoke.
this is the most obvious headline iâve ever read

Slightly uncomfortable dump
OP I think we need to have a talk about your definition of âslightly uncomfortableâ because my levels of rage skyrocketed faster than it took Thanos to snap his fingers

Has anyone tried to see if chimpanzees or bonobos could be taught to fully master fire
this one guy did and he was chained to a mountain to have an eagle eat his liver every day
A spectacular aerial view of the expansive ruins of the Roman military colony of Timgad (Batna), Algeria. The landmarks which are prominent in this image are the magnificent triumphal Arch of Trajan, ca. 100 AD and the well-preserved ancient theater. (Photo: Geo Steinmetz/John Trikeriotis). .

is there a term for someone who accepts the values a religion teaches but doesnt believe the supernatural?
I have no idea
Jack.Â
Iâm a Jack Mormon. I accept the values of the religion but not the gospel or the connection with God. I hold to the Mormon values for the most part with a couple exceptions but I also donât feel that I should be part of the church because those exceptions would make me a hypocrite if I went to church and claimed to be pious. Iâve also never been religious or felt any connection with God.Â
So the term youâre looking for is Jack. Jack Catholic, Jack Mormon, Jack Baptist and so on.Â
This kind of reminds me of one aspect of Sikhism, Sahajdari. It translates to âslow adopter,â and refers to someone who respects the tenets of Sikhism, but has not taken the full sacred vows and does not carry the 5 physical symbols all Sikhs must carry. Basically, itâs considered worse to take the vows and break them than it is to never take the vows and just live as good a life as possible. To my knowledge, most Sikhs are understanding that the full vows and tenets that they live by are pretty demanding, and not everyone is able to abide by them fully, either due to other cultural obligations or just because âHey, I donât have the willpower to wake up every morning at 5 AM for prayer.â Because they know itâs demanding, being Sahajdari and just living as close to the tenets as possible is still considered valid, though itâs usually meant that you intend to take the vows eventually, youâre just not there yet.
As a note, Iâm not Sikh, this is all knowledge of Sikhism I gained from a few years of studying under some very devout Sikhs, so if anyone wants to correct me on anything I said, please feel free.
I was not ready for this.
