“IM TRAPPED IN SNAILS BODY” written in snail slime on the ground
Reminder that by true definition, cows are predators
Okay, OP, I have to ask...... How are cows predators?
Definition of a predator is an organism that kills and eats another organism (prey) whilst that organism is still alive. Grass is alive and cows seek it out to kill and eat it, therefore, cows are predators.
Everything that eats this way is a predator; if the prey is consumed when it's already dead (not killed by the organism itself) then it's scavenging.
I refuse to call my weekly shopping trip anything but a scavenger hunt now.
Oh my god, scavengers are organisms that consume dead organisms that have died for reasons other than predation - I don't know about you guys but I don't think I've ever killed anything to eat it other than maybe fresh picked fruit. Most humans are scavengers we just have very efficient food locating systems.
From my biology course slides:
Predatory interactions: Interaction between species which enhance the fitness of one species while reducing the fitness of the other.
Types of predator:
True predators kill and consume many other organisms.
Grazers attack many prey, consuming part, rarely causing death.
Parasites live on host tissue and reduce host fitness, but do not generally kill the host.
Parasitoids consume one host and invariably kill it.
So cows are predators, as are humans.
We may not do this directly, but the systems we have in place to harvest our food are still predatory, as they almost always involve the harvesting of living organisms.
How dare you come on the post I made whilst drunk and show me actual refined science explanations and corrections.... U right
