If you could pitch an Avatar series, what would it be about?

I think at this point you know that I'd obviously go for a smaller-stakes story with a smaller recurring cast. And I honestly think I'd go with an Avatar's training journey, but without the time crunch of the hundred year war that TLA had.

I'd also like to explore two things that are unexplored: An Avatar that is DEEPLY unwilling, and Avatars with close family.

So here's my pitch: Avatar Niva, an Earth Kingdom Avatar born after Korra. Where Aang was naive and Korra was explosive and brash, Niva's main personality defect she has to spend an entire series overcoming is pretty easy: Cowardice.

Niva is a flighty coward who panics easily and hides behind her sister Lavi for damn near everything. When the White Lotus tells her she's the Avatar, she has an anxiety attack and flees, and Lavi is the one who calms her down.

Rejecting the offer of training from the White Lotus, Niva takes Lavi's suggestion instead and the two of them travel together.

Each 'season' so to speak is covering both a different element and a different part of Niva's emotional growth.

Earthbending - Preference for Flight over Fight

Firebending - Being conflict-averse

Airbending - Her anxiety

Waterbending - Her over-reliance on her sister

The conflicts of each season are smaller, local concerns, and then at the end there's a slightly bigger conflict, but none as big as a comet or a giant robot. It would also be a pseudo anthology, taking place over ten years with Niva and Lavi being the only characters to be in every season.

No overarching villain, no big grand stakes, no surprising new lore, just a girl trying to step out of the shadow she's been cowering in.

I’m pretty sure the tumblr community is well aware of this problem and probably loads of other people have already made posts about this, so I’ll keep it brief.

So recently blogs like this keep appearing in my followers list (these are recent ones)

Now when you get a spam blogs or p*rn bots you’re supposed to blog them. But some these blogs are actual people who are new on tumblr and have the default icon, so you’re supposed to check before who block them. But here’s the problem…

some of these blogs don’t have anything. No posts, No description, No title. So you’re gonna automatically assume that these are spam and block them.

Now I hate fact that some of these blogs belong to actual people and I’ve been blocking and reporting on blogs like these for the past few days, and that they’re probably wondering why there being blocked or reported. ( sorry to the people who own blogs like these that I blocked you)

So a couple of tips for new blogs on this site,

1.You could change the title (a catchphrase, a favorite quote, a random sentence etc.) or type small description, or whatever random stuff you like!

2. You could change the your avator or icon (it be a picture of you, a cartoon, again it’s your choice do whatever)

3.If you’re not planning to frequently post stuff and just sign in to check out other people’s stuff, just put a put a post something like this just to show you’re new here.(again u can write down anything)

UPS striking will benefit people dependent on medical shipments in the long run.

My enteral formula (my only nutrition) is shipped via FedEx (which will benefit from labor regulations that the Teamsters are advocating for as well) and it is held above safe handling temperature in their vehicles for hours. I've had boxes come crushed, I've had formula cartons come with the bottom seals ruptured. I've heard the same thing from people who get their medical food via UPS.

Forgoing a strike only continues to hurt disabled people dependent on these shipments. If you don't want disabled people to have disrupted access to our supplies, then tell UPS to agree to the union's needs.

I'm curious about whether you hate heroes with no kill policies, or just sanctimonious heroes with no kill policies

A hero with a no kill policy needs a better reason to have that policy than just "killing bad" and "moral high ground."

Superman has a no kill policy because there is nobody else like him, and the precedent he would set for doling out vigilante justice is too great to risk. Remember, most superheroes aren't vigilantes, they just perform very fashionable citizen's arrests. There's actually an episode of Lois and Clark where the DA hates Superman because he doesn't have a license to catch criminals and doesn't read them their rights. But what goes unspoken (and a missed opportunity) is that Superman just leaves them for the police to pick up, and reading them their rights is THEIR job.

And while you can argue (very successfully) that Superman working within a corrupt system is itself a moral failing, he really doesn't have an alternative. Even Superman standing up against police brutality is just him taking hits for other people because he's so powerful that he has to be constantly aware of the precedent his actions set. Any wrong decision would rightfully destroy the trust people have in him.

There's an unspoken truth that the only thing stopping Superman from becoming a fascist dictator is the fact he doesn't want to be one. That's a very good reason to have a no kill policy when it comes to supervillains like Lex Luthor.

Batman's no kill policy is a lot less nuanced than that. He just doesn't trust himself not to constantly escalate when he crosses that line, which is more character focused than political. Batman doesn't have precedent to set because he is just a guy in a suit and if he went too far the National Guard would have him dead in an hour.

But most of the time the only reason characters don't kill the villain is because "Meh violence" or "It'll make me just like them" or some other egotistical shit. Good no kill policies are about looking out for other people, and bad no kill policies are about damning other people for the sake of your own ego.

No kill policies and the way they're adopted say something about a character, and narcissism isn't an admirable character trait.

So I've been doing this think where I round up my bills. If my mobile bill is usually $83, I pay $90. Ditto with everything else.

So getting into the start of the year which is usually leaner than the middle or end, I ended up with built up credit so I only needed to pay $10 on my mobile and internet bills.
