It’s not like they are super close but based on certain reactions from her, I feel like she would still try and help rue if Laurie and her goons were doing something truly bad to her.

I feel like everything about Cassie’s wedding is extremely symbolic. Like we hear this stuff from Maddie about good taste, and seemingly how Cassie lacks it and doesn’t even realize. And then the next episode we see her in a wedding dress her boobs are spilling out of, bridesmaid dresses that are pale pink and covered in bows, a corny first dance with Nate. Cassie has no idea what is actually tasteful and timeless, and that reflects into everything that she does.

And I also think the way episode 3 ends is also very important to how Maddie and Cassie present themselves to the outside world, and how they are viewed. Maddie ends the episode in her sort of sketchy neighborhood, and a bit of a run down house. But she looks elegant, and people wouldn’t suspect her home situation to be the way it is because of how she presents herself to people. Maddie has always exuded confidence, and even though Cassie has the nice house and million dollar wedding (even if Nate is in crippling debt), Cassie is STILL the insecure one.
