I love it when I'm reading a fic and it suddenly clicks that the author is a fifteen year old. No, it's not bad, you just had a lot of Very Odd Hangups and Opinions. Like, you don't normally do shots at dinner. Most people don't actually *have* a lawyer all ready to go. Men don't stand around and talk in the bathroom. Disney will not prepare you for flamingos.

They are complete bitches and the Queen of Hearts was right to use them as croquet mallets. A Canadian goose at least has the decency to treat you as a threat. A duck may come up to you for food but that is because ducks are dumb and know nothing. Flamingos come up to you and expect food. At least seagulls have some game in them, a sort of love of sport. Peacocks want to be left alone for the most part. To a flamingo you have one purpose and that is to provide food. Parrots can se clumsy but that is only because they're trying to get stuff done even if that stuff is crime. Flamingos have no grace and don't care for the same reason you don't care your fridge sees you eating ice cream at 3 am.

I have to admit that most crafting/maker/Linux/DIY/general skills I'm into is less "joy of learning" or "genuine interest" and more "into owning means of production"

Just being able to think "I want/need [xyz] " and being able to do it is better than any drug. Own and use the fruits of your own labor. Hang up your own artwork. Understand what makes food taste good. Get a sense for how hard something is to repair. Get a feel for what quality looks like. Know what products are worth paying for.

going through all the muppet movies in a row made me realize that like. miss piggy was made in the 70's. and it's so rare even today to have a character like her. she's loud, she's selfish, she's funny, she's extremely vain, she's obsessed with romance, she's violent, she's kind of annoying, and there's not a single moment in any of these films where she's asked to tone down any of these personality traits. i am not joking when i say that miss piggy might be one of the best treated female characters ever written
