hello, it's frauleinnachtigall on ao3 (yes, i do have an account here but i don't really post anything here). i just want to say thank you for leaving kudos on my bright-centric fic including some of the... heavier material, for lack of a better word lmao. it means the world to me :,D

 Omg, hey! You’re so welcome! I’ve been reading your fics ever since my obsession with Bright was rekindled at the start of this year. Bright fanworks are scarce these days, but yours are exquisite! Specifically, I love the way you write about Bright as a character, how your work fully realizes the horror of his situation with 963, and the way it has shaped his life and relationships.

I also love how you’ve expanded beyond SCP canon and created your own unique version of this character; the amulet being a fragment of the Gnostic deity Abraxas, Bright's upbringing in the early 20th century (and how it influenced his aesthetic taste), and the references to his Jewish heritage… ahhh, it's so good! It truly makes him such a well-rounded, fully realized character.

Did you ever write something of Elias meeting Jack's family or vice versa? Not sure if vice versa would work, but regardless?

Leaves drift gently down onto the backyard of the Bright family home as around a dozen and a half children of varying ages and varying shades of red hair run around, rolling down the hill, making leaf piles, jumping in those leaf piles, and hiding out in the old wooden treehouse in the branches of a tall maple tree in the center of the backyard with SITE-19 painted in big, hand-drawn letters at the top. The sounds of laughter ring out through the clear, still air. 

As the couple watches from the porch, a child tumbles from the rope ladder of the treehouse - then stares at their broken arm in horror and shrieks. Everyone freezes. 

Before any of the parents - or Elias, his field medic training kicking in - can react, another child grabs their friend and teleports them over to the scene of the injury, where the friend pulls off their gloves with their teeth and holds their hands over the affected arm, a warm golden glow emanating onto the break as the arm moves back into place. The child, now fully healed, pushes themself back up onto their feet and clambers successfully up the ladder, disappearing into the treehouse like nothing happened. 

Elias turns to Jack in shock. “What just happened?” 

“Bright family curse,” Jack answers. “You can’t be a Bright and not be anomalous in some way or another. Some properties are just… luckier than others.” 

“Kids!” Jack’s mother calls. “Time for dinner!”
