Learn the Most Accurate and Important Tarot Spread There Is

Anyone serious about tarot needs to master the Celtic Cross. Here is why as well as how.

Why It is Superior

There are a myriad tarot spreads. You can make your own, or use none. Just pull as many cards as you like and read them as you want. As with food and fashion, we each have a preference. But there are reasons the Celtic Cross deserves so much reverence.

1) It respects you and your question.

The Celtic Cross is not designed to give rushed, biting and abrupt answers. It recognizes that your question is important to you. So it takes the time to explore every detail of your situation before giving you advice and a prediction.

2) It kindly proves itself to you.

Fortunetelling involves powers beyond the natural. Powers that only a few can truly harness. To minimize the trickiness of the business, the Celtic Cross states what you already know: your past, hopes, fears, pains, secrets, goals. If it accurately describes these things, you can trust its promise of what tomorrow will bring.

3) It allows for great interaction.

When interpreting a spread, it is crucial to look at how the cards are connecting. Is the Page of Cups offering his chalice to The Magician? Is the Knight of Swords on his way to attack the King of Wands? The way the Celtic Cross is laid out lets many interactions come about.

How to Perform It

It has dozens of variations. Each reader has a fancied version. Below is what my elders taught me. I use it faithfully.

1) The Hierophant (reversed) – The Present

What is happening at the moment?

2) Three of Wands – The Problem

What needs to be remedied?

3) Two of Pentacles – The Past

What led you to where you are?

4) Seven of Pentacles – The Near Future

What happens next?

5) Seven of Swords – The Conscious Goal

What does your mind want?

6) Four of Wands – The Buried Truth

What lies in your subconscious?

7) Eight of Swords – The Advice

What will the Fates have you do?

8) Six of Swords – The Environment

Where are you in the broad view?

9) King of Pentacles – The Hope or Fear

What does your soul crave or dread?

10) Queen of Wands, Nine of Wands, The Sun – The Ultimate Outcome

What does the future hold, after all is said and done?

11) The World – The Underworld

What lies beneath that can help or hinder?

How to Interpret It

STEP 1: Read the cards in the above order, one by one.

Then read the Ultimate Outcome cards as one: The Queen of Wands is reprimanding the man in the Nine of Wands. But he is supported by The Sun. All will be well for the querent in the end.

STEP 2: Compare the Near Future with the Ultimate Outcome.

The man in the Seven of Pentacles has put life on pause, anxiously awaiting what is next. Then it comes: first, it will be bad (Nine of Wands), then he will be glad (The Sun).

STEP 3: Compare the Buried Truth with the Hope or Fear.

If it is a positive card, it is the hope. Otherwise, it is the fear.

The two positions are aligned. A buried need for stability (Four of Wands) and a desire to be solid and steady (King of Pentacles). The querent is clear about his wishes.

STEP 4: Compare the Conscious Goal with the Ultimate Outcome.

It all happens as hoped for. The querent wishes to get away with something (Seven of Swords). And after a bit of scuffle (Nine of Wands), he does (The Sun).

STEP 5: Compare the Advice with the Ultimate Outcome.

The querent needs to stop acting the victim (Eight of Swords). Once he moves forward, he will face the punishment he fears, yes (Queen of Wands and Nine of Wands). But it will all work out (The Sun). No rainbow without rain.

STEP 6: Close the reading.

For this, you have ten more things to do. All the best to you.

Birthday Magick

It has just turned midnight, and the day has rolled over into 6th May meaning that it is now my birthday! I thought I would share my thoughts and plans regarding methods of incorporating witchcraft into the festivities.

Birthday Candles

I love candles, I think I have a candle lit at one point almost every day. Birthday candles, however, are special. Modern traditions dictate you make a wish as you blow out the candles, which dates back to Ancient Greece and using candles to honour gods/goddesses and beliefs regarding how smoke carries your prayers to the heavens. The biggest and most important thing about any magick is your intention, simply focus on that and be sure you’re channelling your craft as you make a wish. It’s pretty much already witchcraft, so just acknowledge that! If you’re able to get your birthday candles before they’re used you’re also able to enchant them with intentions! Make sure to save them after they’re used, too, though and check out later in this post to see my spell that makes use of them.

Birthday Cards

Birthday cards are a wonderful tool for future spells and witchcraft, and I generally use them in two ways. They’re written with love and good wishes, which makes them great for using in spells of abundance, happiness, confidence etc. Alternatively, they’re written by friends and family- which makes them a tool you can use in your spells to represent said people. Creating a spell for a family members good fortune? Use a bit of the card in it! (You can also use wrapping paper from gifts given by people if you’d rather not destroy cards!)

Birthday Tarot Spread

Birthdays are a great time, similarly to the new year, to reflect. How has the last year been, how do you want the next year to go, etc.I created my own simple birthday spread a couple years ago which I’ve used since. You’re more than welcome to use it!

Tarot Birth Cards

The birthday tarot fun doesn’t stop there, though! You also have tarot birth cards! These are meant to reveal our innermost self and give us information regarding our entire lifetime and are meant to help us work with and understand our key personality traits and characteristics.

While the maths involved is pretty simple, it can be somewhat confusing to work out, so here’s a little guide on how to determine what your birth card pair is! There is some debate on whether the fool is counted as 0 or 21. Personally I count it as 0 and exclude it from the birth card option, but do some research and decide what you want to do!

Birthday Spell

There are lots of birthday spells out there for you to use, but here’s my own in case anyone wants to use it! Rather than being a spell for something, this spell is more of a blank template for manifesting your own wish/intention.

Ingredients: 

1. Your Birthday 2. Used Birthday Candle 3. Pen/Pencil/Writing Instrument 4. A strip of paper. 5. String

Method:

1. Write down your birthday wish on the paper (while you can do a different wish to what you wished for when blowing out the candle, I’d advise keeping it the same. Magick works best when you its focused and your intention is strong, wishing for different things means your intentions are less focused on one thing.)

2. Wrap the paper around the candle and tie it securely with the string. If wanted, you can use colour string to match the theme of your wish/intention to strengthen the spell.

3. All done! As you’ve already lit and blown the candle earlier, there’s no need to do as such now. Keep the candle in a safe place and remember that magick cannot do everything, manifest your wishes by working hard too!

One year later, and I've just turned 23! I will be doing my usual birthday practices as above.

Show and tell time... because I’m excited

Hi there everyone!

I wanted to leave you guys in on something I have been working on (and thinking about selling). I have a ton of fun making them and love to see what these cute little guys turn out to be. In the past, I have made larger trees (about 5-6 in. / 12.7-15.6 cm. tall with their base) but they are very time consuming so I have been focusing on making mini trees ( 2-3 in. / 5.08-7.62 cm. tall with their base). I also infuse them with reiki while making them and do it again afterward! With this being said, I thought it may be fun to show you guys the process (or at least the parts I have photos of). Here we go, enjoy!!

After putting the little guys together, which involves cutting wire, spinning each piece to have one stone per wire, making little groups and spinning them together, then forming the tree by twisting the groups together, I put the trees next to potential base stones for the trees.

Next, I use the extra wire at the bottom of each tree to make a root system. After this, I repeat the comparison step again and attach them.

…And this is the first batch of mini trees (they have element themes):

Fire.

Water.

Air.

Earth.

hii! Ive been practicing for a few years now. took a break bc mental health but getting back into my everyday routine and stuff. recently moved into a new apt and have had feelings of bad energy and something just feels off and dark. Ive saged the places and did a chant for the front door "entering the house"last night two items got knocked off a shelf in my bedroom but oddly I wasnt scared by it. I calmly picked them up but now I want to do something more to try to remedy my problem. help pls:(

Hi! Thanks for the message and well done on getting back into your craft! It can be very hard to return to it, at least in my experience, after a mental health break. Congrats on getting through and I hope you have fun getting back into it!

Now, in all honesty I am not well-read enough on the subject of negative energies and how to clear them to offer much other than general advice. Ultimately, I’d recommend trying again, being sure to focus on your intentions. You may have subconsciously not been entirely focused with what you were doing. Other than that, I’m afraid I’m not that much help.  

 In hopes of being a little less useless, I’ve added my general routine/ritual for cleaning and cleansing a space below the cut. Hopefully you might find something in there that can help you! 

If any of my followers have any suggestions or advice, please offer it! 

Put on something black. Black is a colour that is associated with protection and warding off negative energies.

Before doing anything, take a moment to meditate. Sit, and focus on your intentions. Ground yourself, make a mental (or physical) list of what you need to do.

Open your windows. Letting fresh air in is always a good step before trying to get rid of bad energy as it gives it a direct route out of your home, in addition to having the normal benefits of fresh air.

Clean. At very least do all rooms where you get the energy shift. (I usually buy some non-scented wipes and add a couple drops of essential oils into the packet and shake it around. It smells nice and you can use certain scents like lavender, rose, lemon and sage to have an extra boost towards your goal!)

Cleanse your home, you can use your preferred tactics for this, smoke based cleansing is a great option, though I usually just turn on my diffuser (often filled with moon water and some essential oils) and go around with my witch bells to banish unwanted spirits and shake negative energy away. (Plus, they’re very easy to make yourself if you can get hold of some string, bells and something to tie them to!) I know one of my friends likes to leave bowls of salt in corners of rooms, whatever works for you!

Now comes protection. You’ve cleaned and cleansed and now you want it to stay that way. My go-to method for this is creating a spell-jar, or a sigil (or both!) and dotting them about my home. I prefer sigils as they are cheaper to do and I enjoy the creative process. You could put them inside drawers, under the welcome mat, etc

When you’re finished, go back to where you started. Meditate again and picture positive energy flowing in and around the space. Picture yourself happy and content, and if you’ve been saying a chant say it one more time, cementing your intentions and welcoming positive energy into the home. If you chose to cast a circle before starting, ensure you now take time to close it.

Something else to bear in mind, though, is that the negative energy could also potentially be linked to your mental health? It might be a good shout to focus on some self care at the same time. Maybe have a nice ritual bath, put on a favourite outfit, make your favourite meal, treat yourself to something etc- make yourself feel good!

Not my usual content, but a very, very important thing to share.

I am a white gay man from the UK and I feel utterly powerless in regards to how I can help the current situation but this video gives me a way that’s concrete. Birthday Magick

It has just turned midnight, and the day has rolled over into 6th May meaning that it is now my birthday! I thought I would share my thoughts and plans regarding methods of incorporating witchcraft into the festivities.

Birthday Candles

I love candles, I think I have a candle lit at one point almost every day. Birthday candles, however, are special. Modern traditions dictate you make a wish as you blow out the candles, which dates back to Ancient Greece and using candles to honour gods/goddesses and beliefs regarding how smoke carries your prayers to the heavens. The biggest and most important thing about any magick is your intention, simply focus on that and be sure you’re channelling your craft as you make a wish. It’s pretty much already witchcraft, so just acknowledge that! If you’re able to get your birthday candles before they’re used you’re also able to enchant them with intentions! Make sure to save them after they’re used, too, though and check out later in this post to see my spell that makes use of them.

Birthday Cards

Birthday cards are a wonderful tool for future spells and witchcraft, and I generally use them in two ways. They’re written with love and good wishes, which makes them great for using in spells of abundance, happiness, confidence etc. Alternatively, they’re written by friends and family- which makes them a tool you can use in your spells to represent said people. Creating a spell for a family members good fortune? Use a bit of the card in it! (You can also use wrapping paper from gifts given by people if you’d rather not destroy cards!)

Birthday Tarot Spread

Birthdays are a great time, similarly to the new year, to reflect. How has the last year been, how do you want the next year to go, etc.I created my own simple birthday spread a couple years ago which I’ve used since. You’re more than welcome to use it!

Tarot Birth Cards

The birthday tarot fun doesn’t stop there, though! You also have tarot birth cards! These are meant to reveal our innermost self and give us information regarding our entire lifetime and are meant to help us work with and understand our key personality traits and characteristics.

While the maths involved is pretty simple, it can be somewhat confusing to work out, so here’s a little guide on how to determine what your birth card pair is! There is some debate on whether the fool is counted as 0 or 21. Personally I count it as 0 and exclude it from the birth card option, but do some research and decide what you want to do!

Birthday Spell

There are lots of birthday spells out there for you to use, but here’s my own in case anyone wants to use it! Rather than being a spell for something, this spell is more of a blank template for manifesting your own wish/intention.

Ingredients: 

1. Your Birthday 2. Used Birthday Candle 3. Pen/Pencil/Writing Instrument 4. A strip of paper. 5. String

Method:

1. Write down your birthday wish on the paper (while you can do a different wish to what you wished for when blowing out the candle, I’d advise keeping it the same. Magick works best when you its focused and your intention is strong, wishing for different things means your intentions are less focused on one thing.)

2. Wrap the paper around the candle and tie it securely with the string. If wanted, you can use colour string to match the theme of your wish/intention to strengthen the spell.

3. All done! As you’ve already lit and blown the candle earlier, there’s no need to do as such now. Keep the candle in a safe place and remember that magick cannot do everything, manifest your wishes by working hard too!

I’m interested in learning as one of my friends has recently become deaf. Also, I thought it could be a cool thing to incorporate into sigils!
