Not like I'm gonna come back here and be active anytime soon like I was before, especially since I've been largely educating non-Iranians on Threads, but god fucking damn it. I already see mutuals posting bullshit propaganda about "no war" with Iran despite the fact that Iranians have been BEGGING for foreign aid and protesting regularly for it for YEARS now. You see all these white performative activists saying "Hands off Iran" and not knowing about the 30k Iranians who died in TWO DAYS this January (the 8th and 9th) from the Islamic Republic's brutalities. The same people that didn't fucking speak up until February 28th (when the intervention started) of 2026 and completely ignored all the atrocities that have been committed since 1979. Even more so, they turned a blind eye to the Woman, Life, Freedom movement in 2022 when Mahsa Amini was brutally killed and it sparked another revolution in Iran. The people who didn't speak up until now don't actually care about Iranians. They care about an agenda. And don't get me wrong, I fucking hate Trump and the Israeli government too, but I also stand with the 90 million Iranians inside Iran who have begged for support, and the 7 million Iranians who live in the diaspora. What happened this January is a GENOCIDE.
My partner (who I am in a common law marriage with) of 5 years is an Iranian man. He lived under the Islamic Regime for 24 years of his life. He knows the brutalities, he knows how they will imprison, torture, SA, and execute innocent Iranians in the prison system. Even now, as America and Israel intervenes in Iran, the IRGC are using prisoners as human shields, as well as innocent school children (even though most Iranian households are quarantining in their homes and in bomb shelters atm). My partner's family and friends are still inside Tehran/Karaj, and we talk to them as often as we can (when there aren't internet blackouts like the ones you see now), and they themselves, as well as so many Iranians, are grateful that they are receiving foreign aid. Yes, they're stressed. Yes, there's bombs going towards nuclear and military centers as well as some oil fields, and yes there is acid rain happening. They know this. Yes, they know that the USA and Israel don't have good intentions, and they know they probably want a business deal out of this. Absolutely. Iranians know this, and they want Reza Pahlavi to come back so he can be the bridge for a secular democracy in Iran. He has a 100 day plan for after Iran is liberated, and he himself has said time and time again (even in English) that he does NOT want to be king. If Reza Pahlavi comes back, he will be the closest thing to a democratically elected leader that Iran has ever had (they had monarchies in the past). Iranians want him, and they want their country. Please, listen to them.
I don't know who is listening here, but PLEASE stop spreading the regime's propaganda. The Islamic Republic of Iran had foreign aid from Russian communists in 1979 when they first installed the Ayatollas, and since then they've had a booming relationship with Iran, including their war against Ukraine. The IRGC itself funds so many terrorist groups, including Hamas, Houthis, and Hezbollah. Iran is in an economic crisis not just due to sanctions (which I never think work) but also due to the fact that the IRGC spends Iranian funds on war and terrorism. It never goes to the people. And Iranians have tried for DECADES to liberate themselves from the Islamic Republic's tyranny.
I want a Free Iran. I want a Free Palestine (which can only come out of a Free Iran). Iranians deserve to have their country back. They deserve support, and they deserve the Islamic Republic to be removed so they can finally start to heal. If you are non-Iranian and don't know any Iranians in your life, please stop pretending that you know better than Iranian people. As us non-Iranians it is our job to LISTEN to them. 90% of Iranians want this intervention. They have been protesting for it, and even the diaspora continues to protest in support of it every Sunday.
Please stand with Iranian PEOPLE. Not the Islamic Regime.
