I landed at Suvarnhabumi Airport in Bangkok at around 4pm in the afternoon and I remember wanting to lay in bed– Bangkok traffic did not make it possible.
Before I even experienced “wanderlust”, I have always wanted to go to Bangkok. It’s the first country that I thought I would enjoy. Well, it was overrated, for me. It is beautiful, but it reminded me so much of Manila (except that they have a better public transportation system)
I stayed at The Blocks Hostel at Sukhumvit Soi 10, it’s literally around 50 steps to BTS Skytrain Nana station. It’s also fairly new, so everything works. I booked a 6-bed mixed dorm room for around 300 Baht per night. It’s not really bad. The location is also perfect because it’s near BTS and MRT. The malls are 4 stations away. The rooms are nice, it smells good. It is also cleaned everyday and they have a roof deck as well.
Your 300 Baht already includes Shampoo and Soap! :) Too bad it doesn’t include breakfast but you can use the kitchen and the utilities. (Free Coffee, Milk and Chocolate Drink, too!)

CABBAGES AND CONDOMS: I was so happy when I learned that Cabbages and Condoms was 1 street away from my hostel! (Sukhumvit Soi 12 branch) I arrived in BKK on the eve of my birthday and I have always wanted to try out this restaurant and was so happy that it didn’t need to be such a hassle.
ABOUT: (from C&C website)
“As one of the most unique restaurants in Metropolitan Bangkok, the Cabbages & Condoms (C&C) Restaurant has attracted international attention. Conveniently located near one of Bangkok’s main business districts, C&C is very popular among local and foreign clients.
Our restaurant was conceptualized in part to promote better understanding and acceptance of family planning and to generate income to support various development activities of the Population and Community Development Association (PDA)
We also provide catering services to meet all requirements. And remember, our food is guaranteed not to cause pregnancy.”
TIP: I was scared of food poisoning when I was traveling. And Bangkok, being the land of spicy food, I had to prevent that from happening as much as I could. Solution?
Waiting for my flight to Udon Thani – Vientiane (Laos). ‘Til next time, Bangkok!
