Interior Design Masters has infuriated me tonight. The generic gift shop was just that - generic. The guitar shop was amazing and perfect for it's clientele and they added a flipping sound booth?! Such a bad call and another decision I haven't agreed with this this series.
The Spanish TVE, the official broadcaster for Eurovision that refused participating this year, broadcasted this message at 21h today at the same time the competition started and before the news
The audacity to play Espresso Macchiato as background music to this segment.
If Balkan grandma house maximalism was a perfomance at eurovision:

hi,my name is Normal About Characters and youcan always trust me to be normal about the cahracter
one of these days, i promise i will write something for vanessa that isn't full of angst and whump. however, i don't fancy that that day will be arriving any time soon.
land Robert implies the existence of sea Robert and air Robert. this isn’t really a question I just wanted to share that mental image

Trevor’s top 5 sets to snog Chris on or against?
As far as Trevor's concerned, any set is perfect for this - he'll take the wall painted as the stairs in The Pilot (not the pilot), the bed in The Lodge, the table in Harper's Locket, the list goes on and on.
But I do think he much prefers backstage. Amongst its labyrinthine network of corridors, they can find a quiet place for just the two of them. Where they're less likely to be interrupted by Robert who'd rate their kissing techniques, or Annie who'd immediately start making fun of Trevor.
I don't think he's much for one doing it on stage, and not in costume too, but I do wonder what they got up to after Trevor escorted Chris offstage in the Most Lamentable...
The last Cornley crossdressing post inspires me! How would the girls feel about playing boys?
Annie throws herself with enthusiasm into male roles and has a great time. Even in the Cornley Drama Festival, when she had control over the staging and casting, she actively chose to play a man in her farce; it's definitely something she's happy to do!
Vanessa is more or less neutral on playing male roles; a role is a role like any other. However, male roles do add an extra source of stress; she worries about whether she's believably depicting a man, and she'll panic if she messes up in some way, e.g. if her voice slips.
Sandra dislikes playing male roles. She's here to be a sexy lady, and she feels that being cross-cast gets in the way of that. Which is a shame, because she looked great as a boy in 'The Most Lamentable…'!
Lucy is stressed out in any role, but she slightly prefers playing boys because it means she doesn't have to hear Robert's bizarre ideas about How to Be Feminine.
i love how they talked abt being worried abt not making ghosts too bloody or gory, so they toned down thomas's bullet wound, and only added a dab of blood to pat's arrow

robert & dennis platonic hcs? robert & sandra platonic hcs?
Robert & Dennis platonic hcs
I like to think that Robert and Dennis moved in together pretty soon after The Spirit of Christmas and it was all Dennis' idea. After living with his parents for so long, Dennis was really ready to live on his own and gain a bit more independence but his mum was super wary and moving in with Robert was the perfect 'but look! It's gonna be fine, I'm not alone!' reassurance to her. It was a match made in heaven in terms of timing, as they both needed a place real bad.
When it comes to them actually being roommates it was actually more like hell to begin with. I think Dennis has some very clear boundaries when it comes to how he lives, he has a routine, specifically one for post-day decomprehsions. Robert on the other hand is a man with No Boundaries. It takes some time and a lot of sacrifice on both sides but they find a balance :) I really love this as a source of character progression for them both. I think living with Dennis made Robert gradually become very protective of him and Dennis actually found an unknown source of comfort in the man. I think they can learn to bring out the best in each other eventually and find their own strange but nice routine :)
Dennis once took Robert to a snooker hall with him to show him his interests and Robert scammed a bunch of people into betting money against Dennis because they assumed he was incapable. Robert won a lot of money that night.
Robert got unwillingly addicted to Dennis' comfort food. He will go two weeks and then have a sudden 'FUCK! I'VE ONLY EATEN PASTA!' moment and it Keeps happening. Dennis bringing him over to the dark side with really comforting and nice food hehehehe
Sometimes Robert will force Dennis to run through scenes with him when they are at home, whether it be for whatever play they are doing or a random play he has just found, he will explain in detail his vision of it to Dennis, often in contrast to Chris' obviously stupid vision, and get Dennis to play a bunch of roles. It's weirdly nice tho soometimes quite draining for Dennis.
When drunk, ill or in other ways idle, Robert will accidently call Dennis Denise and the first time he caught himself do it when he was in a more sober state he had to look himself in the mirror for a while.
Robert tried to rekindle things with Dennis' mother after the divorce (which happened after Dennis moved out) but it didn't work out. He's actually found just hanging out with Dennis really pleasant and doesn't feel the urge to date loads. When he does go on a date tho Dennis is nice enough to tell him very plainly he 'looks dressed up' (usually Robert feeds him the correct compliments to give him at the time). He also needs to instruct Dennis to stay in his room and play a videogame with headphones on if he thinks the date will stay the night (this is after Dennis was in the kitchen and talked his dates ear off about early nitendo history and they left).
You get the sense they get into a lot of shenangigans but finding a fondness for Dennis makes Robert more empathetic and having to put up with Robert's madness and enlaught of business ideas makes Dennis a bit more switched on :) I think they work together really well.
Robert & Sandra platonic hcs
The DIVAS were always at each other's throats at the beginning of their time in the society together. Each trying to get the most attention in any given moment.
I think over time their little rivalry becomes more constructive and they come to know that if they need someone to tell them the honest truth about a look, a line delivery, an audition tape, they can rely on each other.
These two will be the first on the karaoke machine and do some truly amazing duets haha
They actually find they have very similar senses of humour once they get to know each other. They love making light hearted, cutting remarks, japs and foe-spoilt star attitude type jokes and they find that the other really appreciates this humour like no one else.
I think Sandra is excellent at putting Robert in his place very quickly and usually effectively (in the way Vanessa will take longer to crack and Annie will just resort to insults/violence and Chris will just get egged on by Robert for example). She knows how his mind works because it works remarkably similar to hers, so she will use what she knows to be his logic against his madder schemed and talk him down from them with minimum disruption.
They love mucking about in their dressing rooms and trying to out do each other's make up and outfits and they actually have such a blast
Chris tries not to cast them as love interests because it usually ends in a competition again to see who can act more in love and suddenly the whole thing is much too over the top even for Chris.
I think the pair of them don't deal great with rejection, it manifests differently, but they both take it as a real blow to their egoes and hence can comfort each other in a strange way. It's very 'they don't know what their missing, we're both fabulous! Why wouldn't they want us?'. It's a sweet thing they do if an audition goes south for either of them. It's not the best comfort but its a nice routine and makes the world seem a bit more normal.
Get those two and Chris in a room together and they could gossip all night
Thank you so much for the ask :))) These pairing things are so fun! Love rotating all these guys in my head
