Islam is a fine example of a religion that will definitely be needing a change to fit antisexual ideals since least the ones I talk to would bully and insult me for being on my own making it sound like marriage is a requirement to stay out of their hell and they don't even value monastic chastity as a virtue like Christianity does at least (don't get me started about the whole marry 3-4+ wives thing)."

it's so sad to me the way that weddings are celebrated. they should be treated like funerals. a wedding marks the most harrowing part of any person's life, where they must dedicate themselves to another person, where they are expected to endlessly mate, where they have no semblance of free time or alone time. then they will be expected to raise children and waste the better part of their lives because of the original sin that they carry. weddings should be a time of mourning.

it's wrong to be heterosexual as well, it's just that straight sex is the only way to propagate the species as god intended. sex is only for procreation. the idea that sex, even if within a monogamous heterosexual marriage, is something meant to be enjoyable is a lie of the devil. sex is for procreation. it is enjoyable to distract you from the disgusting reality of it, so that new people may be made, otherwise no one would ever have sex. but don't let those feelings trick you. sex is a sin.

something that so-called asexuals, especially christian asexuals, need to keep in mind is that there's nothing "wrong" with being asexual. not because "asexuality" is something neutral, but because it's the only thing that's right. sex is punishment from the fall that can be avoided, even as the whole world tries to convince you that punishment is a gift. sexual attraction is a sin that can be corrected, you "asexuals" just happened to get lucky that this sin has no hold on you. the same way that some people aren't very inclined to alcohol, some aren't very inclined to sex. this is a product of god's mercy and should not be grouped with these degenerate sexualities.

if you're already purged of the sin of sexual attraction, you as a christian have a duty to show others the light. gently pull them away from seeking sexual relationships. encourage and model celibacy. show them how beautiful life can be without the shackle of sex dragging them down. rejecting sex and the lie of sexual attraction is the only correct thing to do.

it's all very well to say "friends are just as important as romantic partners" but in practice this simply is not the case lmao. you can share a flat with a friend but it's expected that sooner or later that friend will meet someone and will move out to go live with that person instead. if you're hanging out with friends you can bring your partner along but your friends can't come on a date night with you because that's third-wheeling and it's weird. you can know somebody for most of your life and still be second-best to some guy they met on tinder 6 months ago. you're meant to just accept without question the fact that your friends will prioritise time with their partners over time with you. being single is treated like a problem that needs to be fixed. we casually use expressions like "just friends" or "more than friends". everything we read and watch reinforces the idea that romantic love is what gives life meaning and therefore your life is meaningless without it. i try to keep my chin up but my god it is bleak out there

All of this is true, and so disheartening.

I have always hated phrases like "just friends", and the idea that non-romantic relationships will never reach quite the same level as romantic ones. Infuriating, and false.

I am so lucky to have a group of friends who are deeply close emotionally, and all committed to building a life together, despite not being romantically involved. It helps, I think, that we are all likely autistic and tend not to relate to others in so-called "normal" fashion, but in any case I am glad for it.

This is an area where I appreciate the Chelouranyan conception of Amity (notable because I agree with very few of their ideas lmao).

Amae are those we love, closer than "friends", according to social convention, but not romantic or at all sexual.

This problem is caused by the addictive chemicals produced during sex. Sex separates people from all other forms of love, because it functions like a drug. Friends are deemed lesser than, because they don't provide a sexual high. Society in general is twisted enough to where most people will never be able to even admit that it's an addiction which separates them from everyone but their druggie partner, much less do anything to address it properly.

The only escape is celibacy. People think it's deprivation, but really it's freedom from past desires which only resulted in toxicity.
