when i was at walgreens (at 3 in the morning which explains all of this) the cashier was talking to her coworker about how shed rather be a werewolf than a vampire because vampires are condemned to hell but werewolves arent and then she asked me what i thought and i said vampire because im already condemned to hell and she said in the nicest tone of voice “i dont think anybody is condemned to hell….” paused, stared at me for a few moments, and added on “…not even gay people”

We shouldn't just naively blame louis' team for not promoting him well in the US market. It's time we acknowledge how louis and his team have been single handedly driving fans out of the fandom. His little outbursts on twitter, him associating with a piece of shit and his lackluster attitude in concerts haven't helped much in growing the fandom. Instead it had an opposite effect of people simply disengaging with louis and his fandom. And before anyone jumps, no it's not about larry. The thing that made me take a step back is him doubling down on this so called relationship with mc trashlinson. I don't care if it's real or if it's fake, I don't want to be a fan of a person who's associated in any way with that kind of people. Considering the recent videos, it doesn't seem like louis has a problem with zara and her shebang. I am just left wondering if louis really is the person he portrays himself to be or is it all just a farce.

And believe me this isn't just me who's been feeling like this. More than half of the people I follow on twitter have switched to being solo harry fans or have just simply jumped to different fandoms all together. It's the same on Tumblr too. Even Mexico which had one of his strongest fanbase, isn't the same anymore. No amount of cooking videos, promo, magazine covers will undo the damage he has done. The image louis has curated now is not the same which existed during FITF. I think him and his team should pat their backs for driving out one of the most passionate fandoms and for what, a 2 year facade of a relationship which already has an end date written somewhere in a contract.

I think if we’re willing to accept that Harry’s team controls almost every aspect of his working life, that we have to consider there is likely a similar situation happening with Louis. Maybe because of old contracts. Maybe because of how his career is entwined with Harry’s. I have no idea.

I will never believe that Louis wants to be doing this nonsense with Zara. Or playing father of the year. Or doing increasingly embarrassing Larry denials. And I’ve been openly frustrated with him for the last few years and have pulled back a lot because of it.

But things don’t add up to me. Obviously, there’s no reason to continue to be a fan of someone if you don’t enjoy them. But I think it’s incredibly naive to look at what’s going on and say Louis “doesn’t have a problem” with what’s going on.

Personally, I don’t think his image was anything to write home about during FITF, either — in large part due to the tantrums on tweeter and him bringing up Freddie every five seconds.

But the longer this nonsense goes on, the less I can believe he’s doing it of his own free will. There’s just no way he doesn’t see how Zara, babygate, Twitter rants, etc have hurt his fandom in the last few years. And if he sees that, why would he double down and make it worse? He’s not dumb and there’s no value in decimating his greatest asset.
