As a fic writer, i need every reader to know that:

I don’t care if your comment is coherent. I know what you mean and i love you

I don’t care if you ramble. I read every word and i love you

I don’t care if you leave a comment on a fic from four years ago or leave comments/kudos on like ten of my fics in one go. This isn’t IG, pls stalk my AO3. I love you

I don’t care if you mention the same thing in your comment that four other people have already mentioned. It’s actually really useful to know what resonated with people and I love everyone who takes the time to tell me they liked a particular turn of phrase

I don’t mind if your comment is super long or just a couple of sentences, i love them all

"I didn't comment on a fic I liked because I don't think the author would care or remember my comment anyway". fanfic writer here, I still remember comments I got on my fics from seven years ago. I still think about them and they still make me smile. your kind comments are what motivates us and what helps us keep writing.

I personally know writers who take screenshot and print out comments they got from their readers.

TL;DR comments matter to us writers more than you think. if you like a fanfic, never be shy to let the author know ♡

a feel like the new generation of fanfic readers NEED to understand that clicking on a fic (interaction) does nothing. ao3 has no algorithm. your private discord discussions of fic do not reach the authors. if you do not actively engage with writers they will stop posting. this isn’t social media this is community.

This took me so long to answer, I'm so sorry! I do like to doodle! I have little characters I draw that kind of fit a Halloween/spooky theme and my hope is to start an Etsy one day where I put them on greeting cards to sell, but we'll see how that goes (I work full time, am trying to write more cus I hope to publish someday, and have a few health issues that make finding time a little difficult). Thanks for the ask! Your doodles sound super cute.

I posted a what-if scenario about it, but I like to think when he was going through those rough withdrawals, he just happened to look out the window or step outside to see the Inquisitor beating Bull with a stick and thought he was hallucinating.

Generally speaking (but not always), he's a tad slower than some of the others in terms of catching innuendoes. He's spent a lot of time in the barracks so he's heard many colorful things, but his mind doesn't instinctively go there right away. When Sera starts pestering Blackwall about "ripe peaches," Cullen wonders why they're talking about fruit. A Lady Inquisitor who's romanced him whispers what they're actually talking about in his ear, and he turns ten shades of scarlet.

He’s a natural when it comes to relationships. He may have very little or no experience, but he knows how to love his lady. She’ll never question his devotion to her.

Just a psa for fic writers who use the “trauma bond” tag, please make sure you’re using it correctly. A trauma bond is not two people who experience similar trauma and bond over it. It’s a carefully curated, manipulative bond between abuser and victim to keep the victim coming back because of the addictive highs and lows that come with abuse.

If you want to tag two characters bonding over shared trauma, a good substitute tag would be “bonding over shared trauma.” Trauma bonding is, by definition, an abusive relationship and may steer people who have experienced it away from your fic. Please spread the word and happy writing!
