Semi-hiatus check in (tw: mention of chronic illness, cancer, burnout) -

hi, everyone. I’m still here and still regularly checking my notifications a few times a week. Still on a bit of a sabbatical due to some health issues. The last few years have been a lot health wise with a bit of a cancer journey (been in remission for almost 3 years now) + dysautonomia diagnoses that caused some pretty massive burnout and I just really needed a break from everything. I’m hoping to get back into writing soon, but can’t promise a date I’ll be back and will probably have to kind of dip my toe into things again vs going full force immediately with consistent posting once I get back. But just wanted to say my DMs are always open to chat and thank you so much for still giving me likes and follows and reblogs while I’ve been away. I appreciate every single one of you and hope to be back soon 💛

we really don’t talk enough about luke’s grief post-rotj - and not just grieving all he actively had and lost (although that’s still a huge blow). but there’s just something so devastating about having a parent who was failed by the system and became a monster because of it - because it’s not their fault the system failed them, and it’s just so heartbreaking because on one hand they didn’t ask for this and you almost grieve who they could’ve been because if you hadn’t made an effort to break the cycle or if your circumstances had been different, that could’ve been you. and it’s so devastating knowing they could’ve had something different and just never got it.

because on the other hand, they caused that same pain and loss of what could’ve been for you. like they had so many chances to stop and even if they felt like they couldn’t, the truth is they could’ve. they could’ve seen how much pain they were causing their child and chose you over everything else, but they made a choice not to (and even though anakin made the right choice in the end and paid the ultimate price for it, there were still decades where he didn’t). and now there’s a whole life you’ll just dream about but never get to touch and it’s like trying to catch smoke with your bare hands and it’s just so so devastating because they did this to you, but someone also did it to them first - and now you have to grieve both of you. and we don’t talk about luke having to come to terms with that enough.

Hello! I'm so glad you're liking it! I'm so sorry I haven't updated it in forever. Life has just been absolutely insane and I've been a bit hyperfixated on other fandoms, but I would love to continue it! I'm hoping to come up with a writing schedule to balance all my different fandoms soon so that I can get WWM chapters out more regularly.

And yes, I do write for Pacific Rim in general! I haven't seen the second movie and don't really have plans to since I haven't heard great things about it, but if you have a request for the first movie you want to send in, I'd love to take a look! Thanks sm for the love!
