Inktober, SkekTober day 7!
The skeksis’ historian and librarian, skekOk the Scroll-Keeper is tasked with making sure that the skeksis’ deeds upon Thra are adequately glorified for posterity.
Small and weak, with poor eyesight and fussy eating habits. He adores kitsch and relishes watching drama unfold between his more combative brethren. skekOk amends and re-writes the history books according to his shifting political loyalties and fickle moods of whom he considers to be his friends at the moment…although one might suggest that he’s actually a bit of a literary dilettante, more concerned with the number of books he curates than with actually reading them, and more pleased to talk about himself as a writer than he is with actually doing any writing. He has a habit of showing up late to meetings and falling asleep during them.
India ink on my finest watercolor paper. 9 x 12 inches. This illustration incorporates elements from an Aubrey Beardsley illustration for the “Pierrot’s Library” series, and from the Smithers Catalogue of Rare Books.
