Memory Monday, 2021 might have been the last year the Netherlands will see a proper snowy winter, how sure am I? Living in an urban area for a long time can have detrimental effects on us, you tend to loose your footing on what nature has to offer. It can be a challenge specially in a small country that tries to make the most out of the land they have. The Netherlands makes a good example of how to integrate nature into their urban jungles, in almost every big city there are these places called "Bos" which people go to tan, have bbq, throw parties, and connect to nature to get a breath of fresh air. During the pandemic I spent most of my time inside and it changed me in ways that I wouldn't think could have affected me dramatically, which ironic for me, it did. The Dyrhólaey Lighthouse is set on the southernmost point of the mainland of Iceland. It overlooks the mesmerizing black sand beaches Iceland is famous for, and if luck is with you, perhaps the lighthouse would be lit up. Flashing a white light every 10 seconds. The location might look favorable for those who enjoy a trek, though don't mistake that the altitude and area is located can come with heavy winds. I lost my beanie 4 days into Iceland here, had to replace it with a wonderful Icelandic Wool beanie that kept my head warm, most of the time at least.
