This'll just be me working out plot points for a new Sherlock OC I'm working on. (Please be warned they suffered a fair amount. I'm plotting backstory somewhere I can find it later) (This will also change as I rewatch the show, most likely). Her name's Lilith/Eliza. She dropped her last name after her parents tried to murder her and then just left her in London. They also filed her as dead in the States. Lilith is also not her birth name; she changed it once her parents decided to commit Filicide. New identity, fresh start.
Okay, so as of 20010, they are 16, and they turn 17 later that year in September. About 6 years before, in 2004, they went to London with their family on vacation. Just Lilith, her mom, and her dad. A week before, she'd mentioned exploring her sexuality and mentioned she thought she was pansexual. Her parents nodded, didn't say much to her about it, and took her on the trip.
On the final day of the trip, the three of them were walking back to their hotel when her dad nudged her into oncoming traffic. A car came at her, but she was able to get out of the way in time. By that time, though, her parents had vanished. She found a police officer, but he didn't do much other than alert that a missing child was found.
At the airport, the parents of Lilith were questioned as to why they were missing their child, whom they had come to London with. Anna (Lilith's mother) promptly burst into tears, citing that she had fallen in front of a moving car and was crushed on the way in. They were allowed through due to her incessant sobbing and the people at the airport being sympathetic to her. Once they got back to the States, they had someone forge a doctor's signature on a death certificate before they filed it with the government. Lilith does get a hold of them eventually, but we'll get to that later.
Okay, Lilith is now in London and is alone. After a few days, she starts panhandling on the streets, doing small tricks such as crossing all her fingers, grabbing her arms behind her back, etc. She doesn't know the laws around panhandling, so every hour or two she changes locations. Eventually, they get enough cash to buy some cheap makeup and a mirror and start changing their appearance so as not to get caught by the cops.
Fast forward about 2 years. Lilith has gotten much better at disguising and makeup. She also shaved her head about a year in so she could put on wigs and not overheat. One day, she noticed someone who seemed to be getting around her area quite often. He just seemed to appear wherever they moved to. After the second day of this happening, they approached him. A heated argument ensued and ended in Lilith getting a job. The man's name was Jim Moriarty. (This is based on the assumption that he'd been building a criminal empire for years before challenging Holmes)
Fast forward a bit more to early 2010. At this point, Lilith is in pretty deep with Moriarty. She's often the one he calls on to spy on people. She'd been getting a fair amount of jobs just following Holmes (who they know is most likely the next target), eventually learning that he had gained a flatmate by the name of Doctor Watson. They went to Jim and convinced him to let them go off and do a bit of extra information gathering.
Lilith makes an appointment with the doctor the week he starts a new job (This is based on the assumption that after ASIP he started as a doctor the next day or two) and continues to get "physicals" for her boss every other week. After about four appointments, Lilith overhears Watson mentioning to the lady at the desk that he's worried about her. She hears him mention that she should be in school, not doing whatever work she's doing that needs her to get a physical every other week. Once she overhears the lady at the desk mention to Watson that he should ask his flatmate to look into her, she leaves in a hurry and calls Jim and alerts him about what just happened. She also starts arguing with him about her pay, as it was two months behind.
She's overheard by Watson, who stepped outside to take a call himself. While arguing, Lilith notices the doctor and says hey while muting her phone. Watson, who had finished his call and overheard her troubles about her pay, handed her a piece of paper with his number and address, stating that while he was her doctor and probably overstepping, he didn't want her to be in any danger, so he is extending an invite to her for dinner at some time if she needs it. She accepts, and he goes back inside. Lilith unmutes her phone and talks some more to Jim before heading to a meet-up spot to get her next assignment.
Turns out her next assignment is to become the second-in-command of Jim's crime empire. Lilith views it as being a scapegoat for him, while he's trying to sell it as a way to keep the empire from collapsing due to a power vacuum once he dies. Lilith signs and becomes the right-hand man. He then tells her he needs her to get a job at the mortuary as a secretary so she can get him into a department somewhere.
Lilith creates a character named Eliza, who is a British cousin of Lilith's. Lilith uses the last name Cooper for her, inspired by the name of D.B. Cooper. She then applies and gets the job. After a week, she slips Jim's resume into the head of IT's room. He looks it over and calls him up to discuss him working there.
Here's where it gets a tad confusing, so to simplify things, Eliza and Lilith are the same person, different names.
Jim decides for whatever reason to (under an assumed name) rent 221a Baker Street for Lilith to live in. (this is under the assumption that Speedy's is not 221a, but a different number) Upon first entering her new building, she sees her doctor sitting in the flat across from her's. She's startled, but composes herself. Mrs Hudson tries to introduce her to Holmes, but he's focused on an experiment. Watson is delighted to see his patient, as he'd been worried about them for a bit when they hadn't called after their last appointment.
This prompts Holmes to look up for a moment and greet Lilith before going back to his experiment. Lilith settles in 221a quickly and makes a mock phone-call to "Eliza", pretending to be worried for her cousin. This escalates to shouting being heard through the wall, and ultimately "Eliza" being blocked and deleted off Lilith's phone.
About three days later, 221b has a little bomb problem (not set by Lilith, let the record show). Jim's set up for Holmes has been put into play, with Eliza dropping off a pink phone at the police station anonymously. Jim placed the trainers in 221c. He got a text from Eliza once the pieces were in place, and called the pink phone for the hostage to speak to Holmes.
Lilith calls the phone the second time, and watches as the hostage is freed.
Jim set up the murder of Connie Prince while Lilith set the deadline. Neither is at the scene of the hostage when she is killed for describing the voice.
Eliza made the last call, pitching up her voice to sound younger than she was, she also shook with false fear. She watched Jim fit her with a bomb. He swore it wasn't dangerous. she counted down from 10, but was stopped when Holmes managed to solve it. Once the device was taken off her, she signed her resignation from the morgue.
Eliza, in an attempt to reconcile with "Lilith", went to Baker Street to meet her. She knocked on the flat, but it was empty. She noted Watson leaving 221b and enlisted his help to contact Lilith. He said he was planning to see his girlfriend, but agreed to help for a bit. They convened on the sidewalk, where Eliza mentions that she made a vase for Lilith. A tap on her shoulder and a well done nail alerts her to the next step. She turns to look at the man and asks what she can help him with.
They get into an altercation about money, eventually causing them to kidnap Eliza and Watson, who tried to help her out. Once in the taxi, Eliza was set free and put in the front seat. They followed all the way to the pool, where they got Watson out of the taxi and into the building. He was then fitted with a bomb and an earpiece. Lilith left the room and went to find Jim.
She found Jim looking over his plans for the night. She ends up asking him about it, specifically her part in it. He tells her he didn't know. She asks if he wants Eliza by his side or Lilith to be put in "danger" for the sake of a trauma bond. He said he wasn't sure, and asked for her opinion. Lilith thought about it before picking the Lilith option. She instructed two men to tie her down in Watson's room.
Once Watson gained consciousness, his face drained of color as he noted the bomb attached to him under his coat. Lilith asked him if he was bomb-ed, to which he nodded. He was then instructed to wheel her out as he talked word for word what Jim was feeding him through his ear. Lilith struggled against the binding, playing into helpless victim.
She watched as Holmes looked disappointedly at Watson, before Jim walked out. He made a big specticle about telling Holmes he'd hoped he'd call. Lilith tipped her chair over from struggling and kicked it to face him. Jim explained what he did, who he was, why he did it, etc. Lilith watched a red dot appear on Watson. Lilith panicked and started kicking away from him, almost landing in the pool.
Jim decided to call it quits and claim he wasn't going to hurt them. Lilith shouted that he should fire Eliza for her safety since she wouldn't quit. He gave her a wide grin and asked why he should fire his right hand man. He walked out of the room and Holmes de-bombs Watson, who grabs Lilith and gets her out of the chair.
Lilith noted several dots on the detectives, and heard the footsteps of Jim walking back in. Second phase. He excited called out that he was wrong and that the three of them were going to die after all. Holmes pointed a pistol (Lilith had no idea where he got it from) at the vest Watson was wearing. Just then, Jim got a call and excused himself, yelling into the receiver. Lilith knew something was amiss because that wasn't in the plans.
Once the three escaped, Lilith explained her "background" with "Eliza". She stated they were cousins, and Eliza was a few months older than her. Eliza worked for Jim, and made Lilith nervous because of his status in the underground. Lilith herself admitted to doing work in the underworld, but refused to be part of Jim's empire, citing it was far too dangerous for someone to join up if they have a family. Obviously "Eliza" had differing opinions than Lilith and they went their separate ways, going brief contact before going no contact once Lilith moved into 221a Baker Street.
