This time coming back feels a bit disorienting... it feels like a moment ago I was looking at nice art at the NGA and now I'm back home
Btw. Gotta appreciate 1. the really high ceilings like 6-8m high at the NGA and 2. the fact that they have enough room to space the art out!!!! It really lets it breathe. I only appreciated this after my two relatively recent ish visits to the art gallery NSW where .. eg the Archibald prize stuff, everything was shoved up one another/crammed in because the exhibition space wasn't big enough, and then ofc because it's Sydney and 2 for 1 tickets on Wednesday night AND they served wine in the foyer, the damn place was packed. And some people weren't even looking at the art but just standing in front of it and chatting!!! You could barely walk!!! Today at the NGA I went on the last day of the school holidays and ... well there were more people there than there are on Monday lol but like it was a good normal amount. The Arthur Boyd exhibit was a manageable amount of .. mildly populated... and I went back to see ngari pulka (I'll have to check the spelling of that) and there were whole rooms/galleries that were devoid of anyone but me. Which I like tbh! I find looking at art by myself enjoyable, probably because you can lose yourself in your thoughts a bit
Anyway why am I writing about this now. I could write about this tomorrow with pictures
