Siblings&Cat we love you all...
i love them they are so siblings because ronan inherently can't not fight with someone but also he has to be soft with blue because of all her prickly edges and AHH. also why haven't they used blues amplification with ronan's powers. i feel like that could be something

Vicious by V.E. Schwab
Victor Vale is driving me crazy…the yearning™️
Sydney is a smart kid she's so right
Whyyy cant they just find each other?? Theyre both so dramatic and lame god I love this book and their stupid insane dynamic!!!
something really interesting about eli and victor is how they mirror each other in relation to their purposes. victor is purposeless—before the eo stuff he lives in conforming to society’s ideal of success (be a doctor, be top of your class, try to get that girl). meanwhile eli is so sure of his own purpose—first it’s medicine that calls to him and then the murder. eli has always lived his life knowing what he must do. If you look at their senior theses, it reflects this. victor’s theses is a good theses, but it’s very much in line with what you’d expect. eli reaches for something unexplained, fueled by his own ideas.
what’s interesting is also the role victor and eli take in each other’s purposes. eli gives victor a purpose—he fascinates victor more than anything else. i think victor is paradoxical in the sense that he’s thinks he wants to be the best, but at the same time wants someone to be able to beat him at that. eli is what gives purpose to victor, even at lockland when it was just for who was best in the class.
meanwhile victor detracts from eli’s faith in his purpose. eli thinks himself to have the god-given duty to eradicate all eos, and he is happy to help stell with that through proxy. by that logic, when he finds out victor is the murderer and thus still alive, he should tell stell that—after all a dead eo is a dead eo. but he doesn’t. eli wants victor dead by his hand and his hand only despite the fact that this isn’t the most efficient route to his purpose. another interesting thing is that eli assigns his own faltering doubt in god during vengeful to victors voice. eli subconsciously associates victor with his own doubt
eli gives victor a purpose while victor is an irrationality in eli’s.
Big fan of the fact that Eli spends like 90% of his time acting like Victor is the worst thing to happen to the planet Earth since the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs and the other 10% like "that is MY man and I'M the only one that should be killing him"
of course his plan involves fucking bdsm
