Thoughts on the season 2 to season 3 split:

I know a lot of people have been talking about after the proposal as the split point but I think it is too late into The Long Game to make a full season out of what remains.

I'm re-reading The Long Game right now and I'm about halfway through and Troy was just traded to Ottawa. I think a good potential split would be

Season 2 is the first half of The Long Game and contains relevant details from Tough Guy and Common Goal

Season 2 ends with the fight between Troy and Dallas (they can be introduced as part of the Tough Guy narrative)

Season 3 starts with Troy arriving in Ottawa and is all of Role Model and the second half of The Long Game

(Sid/Geno is arguably more dramatic/romantic than even Shane/Ilya. Real life Sid/Geno lore: Met as teenage rivals, mutual admiration/obsession begins, Sid watches videos of Geno playing and waits for him for nearly two years, Geno escapes Russia like something out of a goddamn Soviet spy movie to play with Sid in Pittsburgh, Geno can’t speak a word of English (and Sid can’t speak a word of Russian) they become BFFs anyway, 20+ years later (!!) they’re still team mates, no two players in NHL history have played together longer, “the two-headed monster”, family. Drop gloves and fight me if that’s not a love story for the ages. 🥹)

I am in fact a Penguins fan but I truly have never gotten into the RPF of it all. I see stuff of course but it just isn't for me.

I always laugh during episode 4 when Shane asks Ilya if he should take off his shoes and Ilya says no. Like he isn't planning to immediately strip that man of all his clothes. Leave your shoes at the door, Shane. You aren't going to need them
