Wow a world without mutilations on small animals where birds and mice can roam freely. Where small lizards can enjoy the warmth of the sun upon a rock without worry. So sad what a sad world where another predator is gone and animals can once again breath easy and free.

Tintinnabulum (wind chime)

The chime consist of a bust of Mercury, simply wearing a winged petasius. The torso of the deity surmounts two horns of plenty, the lower parts of which cross under his sternum. The meeting of the two cornucopias is partly concealed by acanthus leaves and by a bust of Jupiter in high relief, seen from the front and placed in the center of the chest of Mercury. Jupiter is bearded and his hair is thick. The two cornucopias are filled, at the height of Mercury's shoulders, with fruits, themselves surmounted on the right of Mercury by a bust of Minerva and on his left by a veiled bust of Juno. The back is adorned with six-petaled roses at the mouths of the cornucopias and is equipped with four suspension rings from which are suspended by chains as many bells. The central bell and the two surrounding it are suspended from the bust of Jupiter for the first and from the cornucopias for the other two. The bust is decorated with seven bells in all.

Jeweled Skeletons

The jeweled skeletons were originally found in catacombs beneath Rome in 1578, and distributed as replacements under the belief they were Christian martyrs to churches who had lost their saint relics in the Reformation.

Most of the skeleton’s identities were unknown. The  churches spent years covering the revered skeletal strangers with jewels and golden clothing, even filling their eye sockets and sometimes adorning their teeth with jewels. The skeletons were ultimately hidden away during the enlightenment because they represented excess and the churches were embarrassed about how much money was spent on them.
