Ellwood could scream to Gaunt's face that he loves him and he'd arrange something to put their ashes together in the same vase once they die and Gaunt would still think "damn idk what Ellwood actually feels for me".

In Gaunt's defense, it always makes me laugh that Ellwood decided to recite the poem named after Maud and he thought it was a clear love declaration while Gaunt was sulking after it

and gaunt's immediate petty jealousy sets the tone so well.

As a sufjan stevens fan I always love when I feel like my favorite characters would relate to his music ans specifically The Age of Adz as it's my favorite album and in my opinion one of the best written album of all times

And Ellwood is no exception to my long list of characters that would love sufjan stevens we already know he's a huge poetry nerd so I think he would appreciate his lyricism

The themes of Age of Adz also relate to a lot of the themes of in memoriam and modern au ellwood would be baling listening to it
