Showing up to our CEO 's for a surprise sleepover
Bruce wayne x platonic social media manager (prolly young) ft. Batfamily
A/n: I was scrolling reels on Instagram and ended up on this reel and I immediately thought of our favourite CEO mister wayne. So here's a very roughly written fic i apologise in advance for the spelling or grammar errors, feel free to correct me.
🍓Let me know if I should make a taglist and if u would like to be in it. Do mention the pairing you would like to be tagged in or all DC work. Thank u, happy reading.
Tw: none, can be ooc, prolly a rushed ending, written with wayne family adventures in mind.
"Good evening, everyone! Have you ever wondered 'Can one invite themselves into their CEO's house for a sleepover?'"
You pause, holding the smartphone slightly higher and glance over your shoulder towards the enormous iron gates of Wayne Manor looming behind you.
"Great! Because technically we are about to find out"
Besides you stood Amber your editor, camera operator, moral support and partner in crime stood there in the Oversized Wayne Enterprises charity event T-shirt and plaid pyjama bottoms identical to yours, holding a deflated inflatable queen size mattress and a tote bag resting on her shoulder with all the snacks and face masks.
Amber snorts, shifting the deflated mattress "This is either going to be our best performing content or the reason why our rent will be due"
"We won't get fired Amber" you say with absolute misplaced confidence. "I am sure Mr. Wayne would let us off the hook if our engagement is good.. hopefully"
You reach for the intercom but pause and turn to the camera, "For legal reasons.. Mr. Wayne absolutely did not approve this"
"We are so getting fired" Amber mutters
Ding Dong
The intercom crackles with static "Wayne Residence" a smooth refined british voice answers "May I help you miss?" He says smoothly through the intercom recognising you as the social media girl from the videos Dick showed him.
"Hello Alfred" You smiled
"Good evening Miss. I don't remember having an appointment" the old man states matter of factly.
"Mhm.. well because I came up with an idea 2 hours ago and I am pretty sure this one will go viral.. can you ask mister wayne if he can spare us five minutes?"
Long pause
Alfred looks at the monitor. Two girls. One air mattress. A camera and sighs as the corner of his mouth lifts a little.
"One moment"
Instead of saying no Alfred walks to Bruce letting the wayne decide for himself.
"Master Bruce"
"Yes?"
"I believe you ought to answer the door yourself"
Bruce frowns.
"Why? Is there something wrong?"
"Words don't adequately describe the situation" the butler says as he walks Bruce towards the grand entrance. The heavy, iron gates at the edge of the estate swung open with a distant mechanical hum, and moment later, Bruce opened the mahogany front doors. Standing on the porch, framed by the warm glow of the foyer light, were two employees in matching plaid pajama bottoms and oversized Wayne Enterprises charity event t-shirts. One held a smartphone attached to a glowing ring light, while the other, Amber stood awkwardly with a deflated air mattress under her arm. Bruce.. as batman faced life threatening danger on the daily basis headon, who knew the big bat dreaded crossing paths with the social media sector. Judging by the attire of his employee he knew they were up to no good.
"Surprise~" You sing
"No." Bruce responds immediately.
"but we didn't even say anything yet" you fold your arms.
He looked at you. He looked at Amber. He looked down at the uninflated blue mattress resting on his immaculate stone steps.
"No." Bruce said flatly.
He moved to shut the door, but you quickly placed your hand on the doorframe.
"C'mon sir hear us out, we need more engagement on our page. We can't continue milking your sons faces!"
"Social media does not dictate my living arrangements reader, besides this is trespassing."
"It does when the algorithm demands humanization! And we did knock" Amber chimed in, holding up a giant bag of doritos like a peace offering. "Look, we brought our own bed! Just give us 30 minutes. No wait 60! 60 minutes"
"You brought an air mattress," Bruce repeated slowly, rubbing the bridge of his nose. "To my home. At ten o'clock at night."
"Plus, think of the brand equity!" you assured him, nudging your way past the threshold into the high-ceilinged grand entryway. "A sleepover at our CEO's a brand new content! The comments are going to go wild."
Amber slipped in right behind you, making way to the living room as you both invite yourselves inside and dropping the mattress into the polished marble floor with a soft thud.
Bruce closed his eyes for three long seconds. "Alfred, tell me we have a security protocol for this."
"I'm afraid the protocol for 'employees carrying inflatables' was never officially codified, Master Bruce," Alfred replied smoothly from the shadows. "Though I dare say it's been a while since you have made a proper appearance a sleepover post might just be perfect to keep away unwanted speculations, also I must note, the young ladies do appear to have brought their own linens."
Bruce sighs and join the girls in living room.
"I shall call you an uber back to City" he mutters
"Uber? This late in Gotham? Sure mister wayne just send two girls alone at night in an uber" you say trying to guilt trip him
Bruce stared at you, utterly defeated by the sheer, shameless corporate jargon used to manipulate his schedule. He let out a long, heavy sigh. "Fine. You stay in the main living room. You do not wander the halls. You do not touch the antiques. And you leave at dawn."
Fifteen minutes later, the high-pitched, electric screech of an automatic air pump echoed through the living room. You were holding the phone carefully recording the whole scene as the mattress expanded on the Persian carpet, while Amber looked around.
KRRR! The loud sound of the air pump had caught the attention of a certain wayne, Dick Grayson strolled into the living room wearing sweatpants and a hoodie, holding a glass of juice. He stops and looks at the two and their outfits his eyes falling on the air mattress as a wide grin graces his face as he moves forward to greet them, "oh hello ladies didn't know we had company" he smirks looking at Bruce who was looking completely done with the situation.
"Hello Dick" Amber waved and turned her focus back on the pump.
"surprise sleepover" you say with a grin.
"Surprise sleepover and not inviting moi?" He says placing a hand on his chest dramatically.
"you are always welcome to join"
SZTZT! (Glass breaking sound)
Amber’s elbow caught the edge of a small side table. A porcelain teacup wobbled, fell, and cracked clean in half on the hardwood floor.
Amber went deathly pale. "Oh my god. I just broke a Wayne heirloom. I'm going to prison."
You whip your head around immediately and turn to Bruce oh we are so fucked you think, "Sir we are so sorry! We really didn't mean it, we—"
Dick laughs throwing his head back, "oh my god don't worry about that one! I actually bought that set from IKEA yesterday, Alfred confiscated them because he said they were an eyesore"
Amber let out a breath of pure relief. "Thank god, you are an angel, i thought this was it for me."
"Though," Bruce added, stepping over and tossing the two pieces into a wastebasket with a soft clink, "I am adding twelve dollars to your department's budget deduction next month."
"Done!" You reply immediately.
Before anyone could respond, heavy footsteps stomped down the hallway. Jason Todd leaned against the doorframe, wearing a thermal tee, looking utterly skeptical.
"Who are these people?" Jason asked, crossing his arms.
Right behind him, Tim Drake shuffled into the room. Dark circles ringed his eyes, and without asking a single question, he walked straight past Bruce, reached into the snack bowl Amber set on the coffee table, and grabbed a handful of popcorn, "This is reader and Amber, social media team of WE, people usually try to avoid them because of their.. uh creative ideas?" Tim announces
"woah well good to see you too tim" Amber says with a scowl.
Finally, trailing at the back with a scowl sharp enough to slice glass, came Damian, "Father," Damian said, his tone dripping with disdain as he surveyed the floor. "Why are they here"
"It’s for the corporate vlog, Damian!" Dick sang out, casually diving onto the air mattress. The entire vinyl structure groaned violently under his weight. "Come on, join the base camp!"
"I am not 'nesting' on an inflatable plastic bag," Damian snapped, though he made no attempt to leave, instead settling onto the far edge of an armchair.
"Alright, everyone!" you announced, turning the camera around, "how about you all join the sleepover too?"
Dick immediately jumps up, "I was hoping you would say that. We are in! Let us dress for the occasion" Before any of his brothers could protest he was already pushing them upstairs. After a few minutes he comes back smiling with the other three clearly forced to be there all of them wearing the oversized charity tees from WE, Amber immediately pan camera to them. Bruce groans seeing his son, "I shouldn't have expected any maturity from you"
"Alright, everyone!" you announce again, turning the lights off. "It’s time for Movie Night! Mr. Wayne, as our host, you have the honor of picking the film." You pass him the remote as everyone starts settling.
Bruce took a slow breath, navigated straight to a streaming tab, and selected a title.
"We will watch Apollo 13 ," Bruce stated calmly. "It is educational. It will encourage sleep." An instant, unanimous chorus of outrage erupted across the living room.
"BOOOOO!" Dick yelled, throwing a plush pillow directly at Bruce's head.
"Boring!" Jason groaned, slumping into an armchair.
"Father, this choice is atrocious," Damian added coldly.
"No way, boss," you protested. "Democratic vote! All in favor of Zootopia?"
Instantly, Dick, Tim, Jason, Amber, and you shot your hands into the air. Even Damian, after a beat of hesitation, slowly raised one finger in approval.
"Six to one!" Amber cheered. "Zootopia wins!"
Bruce stood there, holding the remote. "I own the television."
"no one voted for apollo sir you lost," you reminded him sweetly. "Play the bunny movie, boss."
Bruce let out a suffering sigh and hit play. Ten minutes into the movie, Dick quietly sneaked past the sofa, reached out, and swapped the stream over to Tangled. Bruce noticed the change immediately as Rapunzel’s tower popped onto the screen, but he just slow-blinks, took a sip of his coffee, and accepted that his living room was no longer under his tactical control.
After 15 minutes you start pulling out a multi-pack of plush spa headbands and two tubs of clay face masks. Dick notices "Oh, are you doing face masks? Let me join!" Dick said, happily tossing a wolf-ear headband onto his head. He sat on the air mattress, sitting completely still with a goofy grin as you smeared green avocado clay across his face. "Mm~ this feels great"
Tim didn't even fight it. He dragged himself over, let Dick shove a frog-ear headband onto his messy hair, and kept eating popcorn while you painted his forehead with blue cooling clay.
Jason grumbled loudly under his breath. "I'm not doing this. This is ridiculous."
"Come on, Jay," Dick wheedled, holding up a plush red headband with small devil horns. "It will fix your pores!"
"My pores are fine—" Jason started, but Dick and Tim both grabbed his arms, pinning him down onto the rug while Amber quickly smeared clay across his face.
"You guys are dead men," Jason mutters, though he didn't wipe it off, pulling his devil-horn headband straight and leaning back against the sofa.
Then Dick and Jason both turned their gaze toward Damian.
Damian backed away slightly, his eyes narrowing. "Do not even think about it, Grayson. I will strike you."
"It's family bonding, Dami!" Dick beamed.
Before Damian could move, Jason and Dick tackled him gently onto the cushions. Damian let out a series of highly indignant squawks as Dick forced a plush cat headband over his hair, and Tim rapidly painted green clay across his cheeks and chin.
"I shall have you all executed for this!" Damian fumed, though he sat back down in his chair, his plush cat ears sitting lopsided as the wet clay settled on his face.
You looked around the room. Every single Bat-kid was sitting around the television, their hair held back by ridiculous, fluffy animal headbands, their faces painted.
Bruce, who was still standing by the coffee table. He looked at Dick's wolf headband. He looked at Jason's charcoal face. He looked at Damian grudgingly watching the animated movie with cat ears, he couldn't help but smile looking at his kids.
He took a slow step forward, looking down at the sofa, then looked over at you holding the tub of green avocado clay and a black velvet headband.
"...Is it actually relaxing?" Bruce asked softly, his baritone voice carrying a rare, genuinely curious tilt. "Is it... nice?"
You smiled warmly, holding up the headband. "It’s pretty great, sir. Very relaxing."
Bruce looked at his kids. He let out one last, long, deeply quiet breath, acknowledging total and absolute defeat. He quietly sat down on the plush leather sofa, resting his hands in his lap, and closed his eyes.
"Fine," Bruce mumbled. "Put it on."
Dick gasps softly, quickly motioning for everyone to stay quiet so they didn't spook him.
You gently pushed Bruce's dark hair back with the black headband, tucking his hair neatly out of his eyes. With careful, smooth strokes of the spatula, you applied a cool, thick layer of green avocado clay across his forehead, cheeks, and broad jawline.
When you finished, Bruce slowly opened his eyes. He reached out, took a warm mug of chamomile tea Alfred had brought in, and took a slow, peaceful sip. He settled back into the leather cushions as Flynn Rider got hit with a frying pan on screen.
"How is it, Bruce?" Dick asked softly from the floor, leaning back against the sofa.
Bruce took another sip of his tea, the cool mint fragrance wafting around him. A tiny shift occurred in his posture as his broad shoulders dropped, the tension in his neck finally relaxing.
"...It's fine," Bruce said quietly.
You walked back over, taking the camera out to capture the final group shot: all Bat-kids, Amber, and Bruce Wayne himself—all sitting in fuzzy animal headbands, painted in full clay face masks, eating popcorn in the grand living room of Wayne Manor.
You pointed a finger toward Bruce's green face, gave a silent thumbs-up to the camera, and whispered softly:
"And that, guys, was a successful break in."
Bruce didn't move a single muscle. The clay on his cheeks was far too tight for him to smile, but as the movie played on, you caught the definitive, undeniable trace of a soft, fond amusement in his eyes.
"Shut the camera off, reader," Bruce mumbled.
"Signing off, Gotham!" you whispered with a grin, hitting the red record button.
In the dim, ambient glow of the television—where Flynn Rider was currently negotiating with a horse, a sudden, collective exhale rippled through the grand living room. The frantic, high energy vanished, leaving behind the cozy, heavy quiet of Wayne Manor at midnight.
Damian was the first to break the stillness. With meticulous, highly serious precision, he reached up, pinched the lopsided plush cat ears sitting atop his hair, and set the headband down on the mahogany side table as if it were a tactical helmet. "The clay is drying," he announced coldly, though his eyes remained glued to the animated screen. "It is pulling at my skin."
"That means it’s working, Dami," Dick murmured from the floor, his head resting lightly against the side of Bruce's knee. His own wolf ears wobbled lazily as he yawned.
Bruce didn't reply. He sat back into the deep leather cushions, his hands folded over his lap, his broad jawline coated in a smooth, thick layer of avocado-mint green. He looked less like the terrifying, unyielding CEO of a multi billion company and more like a human.. a dad? that had been coaxed into a luxury spa treatment. He took one last sip of his chamomile tea, set the porcelain mug on a coaster, and slowly closed his eyes.
"He's asleep," Jason whispered, leaning back against the armchair with his dark charcoal face and red devil-horn headband. "The big guy actually fell asleep."
"Do not wake him," Tim warned in a low, gravelly voice, his frog-ear headband tilted at a forty-five-degree angle as he reached for the last handful of popcorn.
By six o'clock the following morning, You and Amber sat cross-legged on the slightly deflated blue air mattress, laptops balanced on your knees. The footage was trimmed, audio-balanced, and polished into a seamless five-minute vlog. With a single tap on the tablet screen, the Wayne Enterprises Social Media Takeover: CEO Sleepover Edition went live to the world.
Within three hours, the internet completely collapsed.
@WayneEnterprises POV: We invited ourselves to our CEO's mansion for a sleepover.😱
