Pino Daniele was possibly the most known and talented neapolitan singer and composer on earth, he created his own genre combining blues and the traditional neapolitan song, he was most known for his lyrics talking about the daily struggles of people in his beloved Napoli. That included speaking up for a number of oppressed and silenced minorities in a time where they wouldn't even be considered people. He passed in 2015, leaving a huge mark in all southern italians' lives.

Today the neapolitan language in music is even more frowner upon, called vulgar, bad-sounding, archaic, so these songs that were miles ahead of their time get lost, while they were priceless for the representation of queer people in this country. I'd like to live until a time where nobody will tell me the music of my people has no value.

I would like to say that, while they aren't the same genre of music (this one is salsa), there is a song interpreted by Willie Colon. The writer of the song was Omar Alfanno and he had a friend who died of AIDS in LA during the 80's. It was meant to bring awareness to the AIDS crisis and discuss gender expression.

The song is about a trans woman, who was raised by a strict father and then, that began exploring her identity while living abroad and away from the expectations from her father. The song title translates to "The great man/male".

It was also a song ahead of its time and is still very beloved in queer spaces, but globalization has brought hate to the song by minimizing the technical difficulty of producing and dancing salsa as well as its cultural significance.

ilya rozanov is the type of guy to fall for game ads, so when one of the pike kids asks “you got games on your phone?” he unlocks his phone like a man showing off the inner pockets of his trench coat to reveal pages and pages of candy crush, toon blast, homescapes, gardenscapes, mahjong, solitaire, you name the ad he has the game

and it’s crazy because he is at an absurdly high level on each of them, i mean IR81 is topping the in-game leaderboards

and that’s how hayden and shane find the pike kids, in awe, huddled around ilya on his phone playing cooking fever like a madman

First time trying to make an animatic, hope it turned out okay

I just saw a post of someone saying they save reels they wanna watch later by sending them to the rock. and a musician was in the comments like “yeah, a guy used me for this but he’d send me profiles of baddies”

and now I want a texting fic where non hockey player Ilya saves profiles of women he wants to fuck by DMing them to darling of the NHL and Mr. Brand Posts Shane Hollander, never expecting him to see it

only Shane’s team has encouraged him to become more involved with his fans on socials so he DOES see it and is like “who are you? what the fuck are you doing?”

Ilya finds it hilarious and keeps using him to save profiles because it has the added bonus of pissing Shane off. He starts circling back when he hooks up with the women too and rates the hookup, which infuriates Shane even more. Then one day, with no preamble, he sends a profile of a hot guy and Shane…short circuits

My obsession with Heated Rivalry has grown to such heights that not only have I been frantically writing fanfic, but I also wrote a song based on said fanfic. It's pretty shoddily recorded with some sketchy harmonies, but I had too much fun writing it not to share

Ilya Rozanov trying to be a supportive papa to Luca Haas. He starts giving him little clues about how he's 'not alone' and that 'this is a safe space" and of course that if he needs to talk Ilya can help him 'understand his feelings'

Luca is convinced that he knows he's gay/a fanboy but Ilya has just recently become a chronic googler and since finding out that Shane is probably autistic, he also noticed that his rookie acts a little too much like Shane and is now sure that they are autistic.

I am losing myself in so many thoughts about the Centaurs being unwanted by any other team in the league. Obviously we know about Wyatt, Troy and Wiebe. Luca looks like he is fifteen when he’s twenty. He looks like a very tall twelve year old when he is drafted in 2018. Sure he’s incredibly talented, but there is so much talk about his physique and how he’s not aggressive or tough enough for the NHL. To top it all off he bombs his Combine interviews. No one expects him to be a 1st round pick, but the Centaurs pick him 2nd overall. Every single podcaster and sports journalist calls it one of the worst draft decisions in the last decade. Evan starts dating Caitlin and he can’t ignore his teammates and their attitude towards women anymore. After giving some rookies a talking to about pressuring some girls at a bar his coach tells knock it off if he wants to stay on the team. He doesn't listen. He makes a fuss about a player taking home a woman a bit too drunk for his taste. He’s traded to Ottawa by the end of the year. Nick pushes back against sending one of the young players back on to the ice too early. When a second injury ends the player’s career with the suggestion that it might not have been so bad if he was allowed to heal properly Nick loses on his coach, the team doctor and anyone else he can think of. Ottawa claims him off of waivers. Zane is drafted to Ottawa and the coach sucks. He finally gets brave enough when he is finished with his ELC to take the abuse to the Centaurs management. In a move that’s unexpected some of the veterans back him up and the coach is fired. The Centaurs then cycle through a list of bad coaches that are at least tolerable human beings until Wiebe. His first coach however is hired by another team and makes sure his “side” reaches every team in the league. Staff from three different teams make sure to tell him that he better make Ottawa happy because no other team will take him.

Leaving my 5+ year Tumblr posing hiatus to discuss my Heated Rivalry fic idea--documentary of the Centaurs with Shane's first year.

I'm inspired by the canon ESPN doc Shane and Ilya did (everyone forgets this!! I think there is so much potential to discuss with the doc), America's Sweethearts (follows the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders through training camp all the way through the season), and Hard Knocks (follows a new NFL team every year).

Both of the real-life examples find storylines for specific players (Reece had heavy screen time in S1 of America's Sweethearts, Chandi did in S2).

Potential storylines I would love to expolore:

-Hollanov on the same team (Shane losing the C and potentially falling back to the second line, etc.)

-Ilya and Luca's mentor-mentee relationship

-Harris's and other staff's influence on the team, and how having that positive player-staff relationship fosters a good work environment

-How the "winners' mentality" turned the Centaurs around after Plane Incident

-Bood's BBQ being a fundamental part of Team Vibes

-Troy being reformed (imagine a Troy interview about his friendship with Dallas Kent, showing a clip of Dallas screaming that Troy was his friend while Troy says how Dallas is a POS/wished he never met him?? Opening up about his dad?? Chills).

-Following each character through daily lives

-Other arcs for other characters!

While this all could be a fic on its own, the documentary formatting is what intrigues me enough to consider writing. I think I would write it like how socmed fics describe videos, rather than a typical narrative.

EX: Barrett pauses, looking over at Drover before blinking quickly and looking back at the camera. "Dallas was never a true friend, in hindsight [....].

Barret picks at his hands, not looking at the lens. "I have a lot of regrets. But calling Kent out? Ending up here? Never. [....].

More of an omniscient POV, rather than a certain character explaining their side of the story. The reader will "watch" the doc.

I also would do chapter-per-episode, with social media reactions in between episodes. Hark Knocks releases weekly episodes throughout the season, and that intrigues me more than dropping an entire season after it's over like America's Sweethearts does.

I don't know, this is all just a brain mush of some half-ideas I've formed! If anybody wants to share their ideas, I'm very open to hearing them and expanding them into a true fic! I haven't written much besides this Tumblr post, so I don't even know if I can write or if it would be interesting/fun.
