in class yesterday, my instructor asked me what word i might use to define my relationship with coaching clients.

adventure, i said. we know roughly where we’re headed, but we may get lost, and we’ll undoubtedly make unanticipated discoveries on the way there--findings that may be more worthwhile than the destination itself. the journey’s exciting and spontaneous, sometimes exuberant, sometimes difficult, and at times a bit scary. but most importantly, we’re partners, co-conspirators, walking side by side. we’re going on an adventure together.
