To him, you were the prettiest thing in the world. An apology from the universe, a delicate balm to soothe the chaos and cruelty life had thrown his way. And the best part? You were his. His pretty little thing.
Sunghoon saw you as his angel. His pure, innocent bunny, drifting through life untouched by anything harsh or bitter. Someone to protect, to dote on. To keep safe under his wing.
Of course he knew you were your own person, capable and strong. But how could he not baby you when you let him? When you leaned into his care so willingly? You deserved to be pampered. And Sunghoon would never give up the chance to walk beside you, hand resting gently at your waist, like it was meant to be there. He loved you... God, he loved you and even more, he loved that you felt the same.
People called him cold. Aloof. Made assumptions based on his looks or his quiet nature. But none of that mattered. With you, he was something else. Someone else.
“Can you stop taking pictures of me?” you huffed, reaching out to cover his phone camera. Again. As if he didn’t already have thousands of pictures; candid, posed, stolen little moments of you.
He just shrugged, gently pushing your hand away, camera still trained on you. “Nah,” he replied, with that sly little smirk and a snarky remark about doing whatever he wanted. You shot him a glare, but with those puppy eyes he always pulled, you couldn’t even bring yourself to scold him. And he knew it.
He wasn’t sure there was anything you could do to make him stop loving you. He was toeing the line of obsession, maybe even past it. But everything you did was spectacular to him.
“Dude, you’re supposed to be watching the performance to give actual feedback,” Jake muttered, leaning toward him during rehearsal. They were reviewing a group dance, and you just so happened to be in it. But Sunghoon couldn’t tear his eyes off you, every movement, every beat, every smile. He rested his chin in his palm, staring like a man completely captivated.
Jake sighed, shaking his head with a small laugh. “Lovesick idiot,” he mumbled under his breath. But Sunghoon didn’t hear it. Even if he did, he wouldn’t have cared. In his world, there was only you and he was perfectly fine with that.
“Have I ever told you how beautiful you are?” he asked one night, the two of you lying on his bed after weeks of barely seeing each other, tangled up in soft sheets and the quiet hum of each other's presence.
You blinked at him, amused. “Yeah, Hoon... every day.”
You never quite understood what he saw in you. Not that you thought poorly of yourself, not exactly. But there was something about the way he looked at you, like you were magic. Like he’d burn the whole world down if it meant keeping you.

not the usual soft, content kind of quiet— no, this one sat heavier. it was the kind of silence that filled the space between words you weren’t saying, curling in the corners of your shared apartment like mist.
sunghoon noticed it right away. he always did.
he found you curled up on the couch, knees tucked to your chest, the tv playing a show neither of you were watching. he didn’t say anything at first. just sat beside you, close enough to brush your shoulder, and let the silence hum between you.
“bad day?” he asked gently, after a while.
you nodded, eyes still fixed on the screen. “just… tired. of everything, kind of.”
sunghoon didn’t push. didn’t ask for the details. instead, he pulled you into his arms, tucking your head beneath his chin as if that was the safest place on earth.
“you don’t always have to be okay you know,” he murmured, pressing a kiss to your temple. “not with me.”
that’s what broke you.
not the day. not the pressure. not the spiral of thoughts in your head.
just him holding you like you were something precious, whispering those words like a promise. it was enough to make the tears fall, quiet but uncontrollable.
“sorry,” you sniffled, burying your face deeper in his hoodie.
he held you tighter. “don’t apologize. if i could take the hurt out of you and put it in me, i would.”
you let out a broken laugh. “that’s dramatic.”
“i’m dramatic about you,” he said simply, brushing his fingers through your hair. “i’m allowed.”
when your breathing slowed and your hands relaxed against his chest, sunghoon kissed your knuckles softly and whispered, “you’re doing better than you think, you know.”
you looked up at him, and he smiled, soft, sincere, and just for you.

okay, Jake couldn't do this anymore. in his defense, he was attached. too attached, even after 6 months.
29 January, your birthday. a day Jake was always looking forward to, just so he could wish you a happy birthday first, which he, much proudly, was successful in for 4 straight years.
well, once some other guy in your school wished you earlier than him. stupid douchebag, he thought.
but that didn't matter when you said his wish meant more and was always first in your heart.
and god was Jake in another spiral, staring at the his endless messages with 'Instagram User' on New Year's Eve.
''what a great year it's going to be.'', he grumbled.
unwillingly while reading those texts, a droplet fell on the very desk he was at. then another. and it kept going, till he had to set that damn phone aside and pour it out.
Jake couldn't do it anymore, he missed you. you were his bestfriend. the one he could talk to for hours, to rely on and vent to when he had a fight with his friends, the one who had such horrible memory that you had to save little things you knew about Jake in a separate note on your phone. Jake found it cute though.
he had felt care, but this was attachment.
this was such a strong attachment, something he cried over so much he felt his heart clench. when he went out after the day you blocked him, he feet the agony when he saw anything that reminded him of you. he was so proud of your friendship he'd show it off to anyone.
and now, after that day, he couldn't focus on anyone but you. that day, did he really see you again?
after being done with all the emotion, he picked up his phone again, and wiped the tears away.

"definitely shout out. you did great work on that!.. well, i need to go, have a great day!" and she walked off. quite respectful of her to know the boundaries. Jake could see the comments flood with how pretty you are, but he had one thing in mind. something he wouldn't want to let engenes know yet because he wasn't sure, but,

he looked back, and you were walking. he was torn between ending his live and talking to you to figure if it was really you, or walking ahead, knowing that maybe the universe had decided that not even both your friendship was meant to be.
but what if, just what if, for once, he broke the rules of fate, of destiny? just what if....

Pacing. Jay had been pacing around his room for god knows how long. He had no time, but thoughts. thoughts, of you.
why did he care so much after you were gone? it was usual for him to barely see you. it was the reason you left him, one week ago.
you always had a problem with Jay rarely coming to see you. your meetings were limited to 1-hour texts, and secretly behind cafes. you knew he was trying, but it wasn't upto expectation. and it didn't seem like they were getting lowered, since almost everytime, you brought up the same topic.
Jay thought this was just a temporary frustration of yours, and that it would go away soon. but he was wrong. it got more and more serious as time passed, till one day, you weren't there to even complain anymore.
''i don't get it Jay! can't you spare some time? we hardly talk as it is, and this-, this long-distance thing, isn't for me''
he held the bridge of his nose while your words echoed through his head. it was his fault. he knew he could've spared some time, but in 3 years, he only did it about six times.
why didn't he make an effort?
he thought you'd come back. but next thing he found out, you left the country. and he didn't know where you were now. nothing of yours was left.
but what could he do now, as he sat down after his long trance, wishing to go back in time, wishing to see you again. with the person he thought he could keep happy, but he didn't.

''you're just stupid, that's all'' yeonjun didn't even look at you while saying that, too busy admiring the water.
you and yeonjun have been friends for almost 2 years now. you first met him when you first came to school, you made a friend, yunjin, and she wanted you to meet him and his friend, choi beomgyu. the four of you got along well (most of the time...).
at first yeonjun was pretty...cold, he wouldn't talk much. most you ever heard him speaking was arguing with beomgyu about their looks.. soon enough, he warmed up, but still remained so mysterious to you, and you liked it. you eventually realized you may have caught feelings, and you still dont get it. i mean, he just stands and stares at a river, how do i like someone i dont even share interest with?
thats what you were thinking about right now, about how to dive in more into this boy's soul, while hanging out alone with him. both of you quite frequently did this, and it was fun. you talked about random things, trying to understand each other.
''you know, if you tried enough, you'd see that the water has all the peace to offer'' you were confused at his response ''it's just water, like the type at home'' yeonjun rolled his eyes and sighed, looking at you ''try a little harder'' he stared back down, smiling ''if you focus, you can feel the peace in your heart. its relaxing, not having to worry about anything, and just looking at something so calming'' he smiled widely watching the little waves flowing down the river. you kept quiet for a few minutes before speaking ''i still dont get it. it's water.''
he laughed silently ''maybe you have a different way of calming yourself'' you raised an eyebrow ''what makes you need comfort?''
yeonjun chuckled, ''you don't know me'' you replied back ''that part's obvious, but you don't know me either''
''then let me know you'' he spoke as he stepped closer, leaning towards you, just enough to make you feel flustered, he knew what you had in your heart, he just wanted you to say it.
you, on the other hand, were too shocked to respond, until you heard a voice
''i wanna know you too, y/n!!!'' ''beomgyu! shut up! they heard us!''
and out came beomgyu and yunjin, bickering along the way before sheepishly smiling. yeonjun stepped back in annoyance and rolled his eyes ''what are you two doing here!''
''hey, relax, we had reasons. it was beomgyu's fault. but, i guess you two can continue, just pretend we're not here, and we'll pretend we didn't see you, easy'' yunjin replied.
yeonjun looked back at you, slightly smirking and leaning forward again ''what do you say we pick up where we left off?''

“Y/n! look!” “For the last time, Riki, I do not need u distracting me anywhere else.” you said, rolling your eyes and smiling later, at your boyfriend who seemed to be gesturing somewhere, but u didn't bother looking. You both already got kicked out of a toy shop for knocking down half the Barbie collection...yeah. That. He got scared of those dolls that move their arms and legs when you pass by them, and that's that. It was funny though, you agree, but you would never admit that to him, he'd probably do something else alot crazier...
“Just one look! I promise you won't regret it!” Riki proceeded to shake your shoulders slightly, in an attempt to have you look at what was so interesting that it caught his eye. Sighing, you lifted your head up to read the shop label “claire's...” oh no. “Riki, tell me you're joking when you actually want to go there” you questioned him, shocked, trying not to laugh. “Well then, my dear y/n, your assumption is right. i do want to go. who's gonna stop me? you?” he replied, smiling while lifting his brows. “Riki I-” too late. He already dragged you in.
“I can't believe you dragged me into a kid's shop, this is for babies!” Riki just smiled at your statement, shrugging before saying “it was necessary” “neccessary? for what?” “these!” you looked at the item Riki was holding and almost laughed at his face
“what?” he said, smiling cheekily “don't u like them? i can get other ones” “no no, it's just that- there's no way I'M doing that. these are going on YOUR hands” what was riki exactly holding? fake nails. for children. they had adorable hello kitty's on them, no wonder he chose those. “what?! no way i'm wearing these, i got them for you” he was just kidding around, but you already got another similar pack and rushed to the counter, paying for those cute, adorable and tiny hello kitty nails.
[time skip, at the dorms]
“yah!, riki, stay still!” “there's no way i'm sitting still, you should be the one wearing these!” he whined. this was so entertaining for you. you had to convince him to let you put the nails on him in exchange for bungeoppang for a week.
“alright, i guess you're not hungry then” you backed away, raising ur hands in defeat, trying not to giggle. “i-i didn't say that!” he said, a little louder than expected, till he continued “fine..you can do them, just. make sure none of the members see.” he warns you with a little glare as you smile in victory and continue pressing the nails until...
the door swings open, revealing a concerned Jungwon. “is everything alright? are you two fighting over what disney movie to watch again?” both of you whip your faces towards him, and you fall onto the mattress, laughing, while Riki was just..shocked. the very thing he did not wish to happen. he was doomed. “i'm sorry, Riki” you grinned at him with evil in your eyes. this left Jungwon even more confused, because only Riki knew what was about to come.
“just...” you take a second to laugh, and finally utter the words “just look at his hands, or more specifically, his nails” and you burst out laughing, as Jungwon attention diverts to Riki's hands, he sees what his dear youngster didn't want him to see “are those- are those what i think they are?” Jungwon pulls out his phone to take a video, for future evidence “Awwww...they're so cute!” he joins you in the laughter as Riki tries to hide his nails from his hyung, defending himself “It wasn't my idea!” “well then, you can explain that in the groupchat later” Jungwon smirks at him and walks away, closing the door behind him, while Riki stares at him in disbelief...
and the next thing you know, Riki's phone vibrates...and you can see the messages from his hyung's already making fun of him.
“y/n!!!” he starts pouting and whining about the situation, while you take him completely unserious “yes?” you asked him, before laughing again, this was too funny. Riki glares at you before he goes to take something out of his bag, and hides it behind him “okay...you win this time, here.” you raise a brow at him, before he reveals what was in his hands, he grabs your wrist, just enough so you won't get away. and then you see it...
“Riki!!! there's no way you bought the minnie mouse ones too! yah, let me go!” and now it was Riki's turn to laugh. “payback time, baby.”
