I suppose it should be noted that I initially figured that this fic would be like, 10k words max, as I'm highly aware that, as told my first fic on ao3, I am what one could call "a wordy bitch." I'm going back through what I've written so far of the upcoming klance Wicked fic, trying to actually edit the story and maybe parse it down in word count...and yet I'm at 14k with no clear end in sight! 😅

As always, I'm not the writer that has an outline and a general foundational plan to build around. I just type train of thought style, with minimal chances of me editing along the way. So for me to attempt to edit the story, at all? I guess we can call that character growth.

And so with 14k words in the barrel and SO much more included than just "Lance is hyped about the upcoming Wicked movie and drags Keith along for the ride," here's a non-spoiler snippet that doesn't require any context! 😌

Okay tumblr just might be the better place to blah and otherwise expand upon current fascinations regarding my upcoming fic lol. Love BlueSky so far (please go follow that, same handle @aphantomdiamond.bsky.social), but the character limit kills me every time.

SO. Wicked, and how it relates to the fanfic lol. Would it be so surprising if it's really just an excuse for me to slap my experience with Wicked onto a Klance narrative? Maybe, considering this blog really was initially meant JUST for my twilight fanfic and the fandom overall. And, ya know, the fact that i haven't really posted anything outside of that fic as well. I guess I'm trying to rectify that.

And hell, I don't wanna give spoilers, but cmon. Surely we can acknowledge a similar dynamic between our favorite sapphic witches and our favorite achilliean idiots? "What Is This Feeling?" can be klance as FUCK if you think about it!! Because, like Elphaba and Glinda, there is something undeniable between Lance and Keith, ya know? No matter what is there in canon or was possibly intentional and likely unintentionally implied via subtext, these two sets of people have some overarching overlap.

And while I truly do not have the capacity to slap klance into a wicked AU (the logistics alone are giving me palpitations lmao), what I can do is maybe draw in-story parallels, point out that Something There that can maybe remain unspoken between two people who are inexplicably drawn to each other for one reason or another. To maybe posit that Something There can be Something More, ya know???? 🥹

Oh, and I just gotta say, it really was the Broadway soundtrack that brought me into loving Wicked. I didn't give a fuck about it until far after the first movie trailers were dropped, then got sucked into the visual narrative waiting to be told via the first film. I truly did fall in love with the story of these two witches thanks to the soundtrack, and did my best (and failed) to NOT research too much into the story to save myself for the movie lol. And now I'm in love with both the Broadway recording and the film soundtracks in equal and differing measure!!

Okay I gotta go, this is already a small essay lmao, ciao for now.

Largely because it's to say that I'm working on a new fic for Klance of infamous Voltron Legendary Defender from Netflix, may it rest in peace since its removal. I'll miss it dearly. The other part of my anxiety is because wow, having to promote something is...yikes. 😬

Oh yeah, as I more or less abandoned this account due to Life, I hadn't posted the final update for BBBBAU!! Which i finished this past July! 😅 Thank whoever for your patience on the tumblr front lmfao.
