Kimetsu no Yaiba: The End
As you all know, Kimetsu no Yaiba just ended recently at 205 chapters. Gotouge sensei did not exactly mention who ends up with who, but you can sort of guess it anyway from their predecessors.
Major spoilers under the cut...
Let’s take a look at Tanjirou’s predecessors:
Kanata, the eldest and Sumihiko, the youngest. Based from the color of Kanata’s eyes, yes, we can say that it’s Kanao & Tanjirou who got together at the end. He has a pretty deadpan expression, similar to his great grandmother. Also the name, Kana(ta). The kanjis differ but I think it’s Gotouge sensei’s way of pairing them together, mainly because of Inosuke’s predecessor.
Now, if you’ve seen the colored page, Aoba has green eyes and, if you’ve read the latest chapter, he acts rather timidly compared to his ancestor. Yes, He’s still a he. But from his name Ao(ba), it is safe to assume that he is in fact, the predecessor of Inosuke & Aoi. He works as a botanist, so I guess his love for plants stems from Aoi working at the Butterfly Estate.
I’m just kind of sad that he’s NOT bffs with Tanjirou’s and Zenitsu’s great grandchildren. Because Inosuke, and all his baby boars, deserve all the love and companionship in the world. It would’ve been awesome if they were all still together since y’know... Giyuu, Sabito and Makomo are all hanging out now.
Last but not the least, this one was basically a given but... Yeah, Nezuko and Zenitsu’s great grandchildren have been introduced.
This one needs very little explanation but I found it funny that Yoshiteru is complaining that his older sister, Touko, is the complete opposite of all the women in their family *coughs* Nezuko *coughs* as she’s the only one who’s not well behaved. Oh yeah, If you haven’t noticed from the colored page, Touko and Kanata are dating. Now, for the rest of the Hashira: Muichiro & Yuichiro!!! Fated to be twins forever.
Uzui is still Uzui in every sense of the word.
Shinobu & Kanae ‘nee-sama!
Himejima is still taking care of children, but as a preschool teacher this time around.
Obanai & Kanroji finally get the happy ending that they deserve. I’m really happy that they got a second shot at life.
Our favorite tsundere brothers (Sanemi & Genya) are police officers now. But they kinda look like Yakuza coz of the scars.
Rengoku is surprisingly bffs with Tanjiro’s youngest great grandchild.
Some of the supporting casts were also there (or were mentioned), like the blacksmiths, Zenitsu’s grandpa, Yushiro (who is still immortal) and many more. But the funniest is... Ubuyashiki-sama
After killing off all the males in their family at such a young age, they’re finally living way past their 90s. If my calculations are correct, this is STILL Kiriya-san (the original Ubuyashiki, who led them in defeating Muzan). Remember that the people introduced earlier were the main crew’s great grandchildren, and Kiriya was only 8 whet it all happened. If we assume that the characters had children when they were 18-20 years old (not uncommon during that time), then Kiriya would have been 10. Assuming that their grandfathers are still alive, then they would probably be in their 80s-90s and Kiriya would be in his 90s-100s. And there you have it. I’m really sad that it’s over. I felt like every character’s stories could have been explored more but all good things come to an end. Thank you so much Gotoge sensei!!! Aside from the story, thank you for drawing this.
