The insomniac princess and the grumpy prince

You laid in bed in your phone as you beat the front door unlock, the small beep sound catching your hearing before it opens, revealing a tired tsukishima.
You hear his duffle bag slide to the floor with a thump as a sigh leaves his lips, you could tell he had a long day by the look on his face and the fall of his shoulders.
Classes, training, job. It was all the same.
Tonight they had kept him especially late to work on drills. Running his body ragged as they ran, stretched, worked on sets and stretching their offense.
His mind ran over the strategy again and again.
Block. I need to make sure that ball doesn’t make it over..
“Why are you still up?” His tired speaks across silence.
“Couldn’t sleep.” You shrug as he moves closer to you.
You notice that his hair was messy, he must’ve taken a shower at school before coming home, not wanting to be bothered with anything but getting to bed.
He sighs as he stands over you, adjusting his glasses.
“I told you about waiting up for me.”
“Who said I was waiting up for you?” You say defensively as you raise an eyebrow.
“Ever since Volleyball season has started, you’ve been staying up, waiting for me to come home. I told you about that shit.” He grumbles as he sits on the bed.
“Maybe I just wanted stay up because I enjoy the quiet, ever think of that?” You roll your eyes. The truth way, you couldn’t sleep without him. Before you two became roommates, you had a heard time sleeping.
He would stay with you and listen to you yap until you fell asleep. It was the only way you would be able to relax.
But since volleyball season started back up, you’ve would wait for him to come home, not even so you could yap his ear off, but because his presence was so relaxing to you. Not that you would admit that to him.
Not with an ego like his.
“Right..well now I’m here so go to sleep.”
“Tch. Come on at least tell me how practice was.”
“Long.” He answers as he starts to move over to his bed.
You grab out without thinking, not wanting to him to leave just yet.
He looks back at you, his face tired but patient.
“..stay a little longer? Please?” Your voice quiet.
He sighs for a moment bout moving to sit in your bed.
“But you’re going to sleep right after, got it?”
And you nod, settling in as you listen to him talk about his day before ranting on and on about yours. He listens, nodding his head and occasionally slidding in a smart comment.
Some times goes by before your eyes grow heavy, a yawn being a sign of that.
“Get some sleep, you have class in the morning.”
You bums, your eyes starting to close.
“Tsukishima.” You mumble, maybe your truer feelings were slipping since you were tired. Maybe you were just feeling clingy.. who knows.
You tugs his arm lightly.
“Stay.” You say as I look up at him. His face was something you hadn’t recognized.
He sighs again as his eyes don’t leave yours.
“Scoot over.” He speaks softly.
You do so, leaving room for him and once he slips into bed, his arms wrap around you, you head laying on his chest, his heart beat relaxing you further.
“Don’t get used to this.” He speaks as his breathe fans your head. You nod though your heart raced. You felt safer, calmer.
The faint smell of his scent and soap hits your nose as you relax into him, sighing out.
You may or may have not felt a soft kiss on your head when you were supposed to be asleep.
