its funny how toph is always thought of as this really tough zero fucks given character, when she is really forgiving. she went to meet her mother in ba sing se when her parents basically told her she wasn’t allowed any friends. she had no problem with iroh once she found out he was with zuko (because she knew what he was really like) and she was there advocating for zuko to join the gaang when nobody else wanted him. she could see he was just a troubled kid with a bad family (and she points this out). she is over the moon when the boulder and the hippo come back to help with the invasion. in the chase she decided to go back to the others before they could apologise or anything. she gets hotheaded but she is very forgiving and i love her a lot.

i love alice osemans books so much. it’s not because writing style, or the representation, or the art, or even how incredible the author is, even though i LOVE all of those things. it’s because she takes feelings that i thought no one else felt and makes them real. she makes me feel like i’m not alone.

i like that all of the feelings described are true, real, and raw. it’s so easy to relate to all of the characters in different ways because they are so truthful. i know that there are real people that feel these things, and i know i could find them if i searched for them, but hearing someone describe their emotions so fully and so honestly is so comforting, and it definitely makes me feel less lonely. people aren’t going to admit these things to your face, but you can enjoy the literature with other people and talk about it and bond over it and you all know that you feel just a little bit the same, and it is oh so beautiful.

They were boyfriends and also I’ve decided that kelsie and Taylor have a bit of a thing going on too. Kelsie plays and it helps Taylor study and relax a bit, Taylor is always there to distract Kelsie when she needs it and they both make sure the other eats and sleeps and showers even if they can’t do it for themselves and get caught up in their work.
