I am Mohamed Mohamed, a father and husband, reaching out during the darkest
chapter of my family’s life. My beloved wife Amna and our three young children
Ahmed, Adam, and little Aylool are caught in the merciless grip of the ongoing
conflict that erupted on October 7. Our lives, once simple and filled with hope,
have been upended, leaving us clinging to each other as we navigate the terrifying
Every single day is a battle for survival. The laughter of our children has been
replaced by fear, their innocent dreams overshadowed by the constant sound of
explosions and threats around us. Schools have closed their doors, robbing them of
a future they deserve, and their world has shrunk to the confines of survival rather
than joy. I see the light dimming in their eyes, replaced by confusion and pain as
they try to make sense of a world that seems to have forgotten them.
Amid the chaos, my family and I are struggling to hold on to fragments of a normal
life. The psychological strain on our young children is immeasurable, and the
weight of shielding them from danger drains every ounce of our strength. There is
no safety here, no true rest, only an unending attempt to reassure our children and
keep them going in a world turned upside down.
