actually since god apparently just blew michael up instead of killing him the normal way wouldn’t it be neat if whatever remnants of michael’s grace were left…attached itself to the area. or something. when adam wakes up there he gives himself five minutes or so to grieve and then gets up and walks away. a few years down the line, be it three or five or ten or whatever, when he’s finally managed to bring some stability into his life and cobble together something that resembles an ordinary lifestyle, he decides to just track down and come back to the place that he woke up, maybe to give himself a little peace of mind or what have you. and he notices upon arrival that the air is…humming. and see, that would be weird already if it weren’t for the fact that the humming seemed…familiar. and that’s the story of how he ends up renting the house by the lake when he realizes that michael’s grace is still there and it’s reforming itself but slowly, really really slowly, but it’s fine because it’s been a thousand years and he would figure out a way to wait a thousand more if he had to. he can wait. he wants answers, after all; but mostly, he just doesn’t want michael to feel alone.

it seems like michael’s grace knows he’s there, if the way the wind brushes gently through his hair as a greeting every time he steps outside means anything.
