Imagining the Commander's distant stare as he walked away from this fucking kills me.
Continuing off my sylvari headcanons train of thought; Them being plants, as in having no adaptive immune system, also means they have no graft rejection. I can see the Inquest, during the Secondborn tragedy, experimenting with that - resulting in sylvari with their limbs amputated and replaced with the limbs of their companions, dead or alive. Patchwork Frankenstein's monsters of bodyparts that aren't theirs. Looking at their hand and it's the hand of someone who was abducted alongside them, but didn't make it. A forever-reminder.
The limbs work correctly, as sylvari regeneration is immensely potent - nonetheless, though their bodies may accept them as their own, their minds never truly will.
(Male sylvari VO) The poem recited for the Trahearne utility on Troubadour ❤
big fan of when a character is dead and the narrative frames them in a very angelic, soft, gentle manner but then it turns out not only are they still alive (plot twist) but theyre alive in the most gruesome and horrific way. your loving kind mentor who motivates you to fight in their memory came back wrong and theres blood and dirt under their fingernails from clawing they way out of the grave.
it's good enrichment for The Character(s) when one of their friends gets possessed and they have to find some way to bring them back. great friendgroup bonding activity. especially if they have to do some exorcism bullshit and it's traumatizing for everyone involved and there's collapsing and sobbing afterward. great thing for The Character(s) to do. highly recommend.
developed a real fondness lately for characters who experience a horrific act of violence and come out the other side saying "ah. I don't think I get to be me anymore. they took out the part that was me, killed it, and put something else back in its place, and now I'm whoever the hell that is." love it when someone becomes a corpse and replaces themself <3

"theyll hate you for this" "but theyll be alive" is THE juiciest thing to me
i will ensure you stay alive above all else. even if what i do to make it happen is horrendous. even if it violates all your wishes or moral principles. even if you can never look at me the same way again, even if you hate me for it. because at least if you hate me it means youre alive
man why do GW2 necromancers spec banners have such good art, like look at these
now that i'm replaying the earlier stages of the pre expansions story with trahearne still around, it made me realize how back then you weren't the sole person literally everyone and their mother relied on. it was you and him and the people you delegated things to. after he's gone, and even though you eventually form your own team of experts, everyone's hopes rely solely, heavily on you in such an alienating, isolating way. much to ponder
An art piece for @lady-quen of one and only Maelmordha. It was incredible to work on this. The ideas and story that Lady-Queen offered me to paint and all the symbolic details were such a treat. Below are close ups and details :)
Imagine the sylvari commander, for the first time in nearly 10 years, approaching the Firstborn for advice once more.
What do they do after a Wyld Hunt has been finished? How does one figure out a new purpose for themselves, when their purposes had always been decided for them?
And the Firstborn won’t truly be able to answer, because really, what more can they offer a brethren who has more experience of the world than any of them despite their youth? Who has had the heaviest of all their Wyld Hunts, and who has always just seemed… so in control?
Imagine them missing Trahearne all the more, because he’s been through this before. He would know what to say.
"Marshal of the Pact Trahearne"
Gw2 mesmers who don't properly train and learn to control their latent magic developing schizophrenia and/or other unreality-based mental health disorders due to said magic manifesting in unpredictable ways. Instead of weaving illusions, your own perception of the world slowly becomes a series of them.
It begins at the edges of your vision, or when you're falling asleep. Shapes darting here and there, manifested from your subconscious. Voices that aren't quite there. If you're lucky, a mage will trace back your problem to its true source. If you're not, you can go your entire life not knowing you're a mesmer - instead, stuck in your head, with your mind slowly and steadily battered by a power that was meant to serve you, not destroy you.
And a long time comin Legendary complete! The collection was a fun romp through many pirate locations around Tyria so of course I took my pirate rev Kyrel through it, and then achievement hunting in the new maps was really fun! (Lets not talk about the bugged events though lol)
This was actually incredibly fun to get finished, I really hope they continue this style of Legendary unlocking in the future!
It's just after 2am and I will be attempting sleep in a minute but first I'm thinking about Deff's timeline/backstory and I want to him to have joined the Priory at least briefly immediately after leaving the Inquest
And by 'joined the Priory' I mean 'dragged to the Priory by Sieran after she found him passed out in a ditch somewhere and decided he looked like a new friend'
The long awaited return of “Spotlight on your character trying to escape conversation by not even subtle responses (Alternative title, how have they not gotten punched by an NPC yet) - Part 1
