maybe this is not my place to say because I am monolingual, and I'm sure it's part of a larger, more nuanced discussion about visibility and accessibility on the internet, but I think it'd be cool if people posted in their native languages more instead of in english. I see people do it way more on other platforms than on tumblr which is almost exclusively in english
In my experience as bilingual (Spanish and Galician) and with a high English level, most people post in their native languages. The only people who like me post in English do it because:
a) professional reasons (they are targeting an international market)
b) they are in online spaces where English is the most common language. Tumblr for example, and it's a really special case because it is a platform where text is super important. Another place may be AO3, Spanish speakers usually post fanfictions in Spanish on other platforms
BUT here is the important part, as somebody who speaks Galician, online you can see that Galician is a minorized language because really few people post in Galician. But this just mimics reality.
So what I'm trying to say is: usually this problem of people not posting on their native language mimics reality and it happens more to people that speak minorized languages.
Also, in my personal case here on Tumblr I post mainly in English, but in other places I'm continuously deciding which language to use depending on who I'm posting for.
The zines I make? I talk about them in Galician. Those are in Galician and I sell them in Galicia.
My professional life? Mostly English and a bit of Spanish because I'm a 3D animator, it's a globalized market and people expect me to speak English fluently.
Also, choosing a language to post really depends on your online friends. Like, if you've made enough friends online from other parts of the world it's common to find a common language (English because colonialism). If you're online talking mostly to IRL friends you'll continuously post in your language without thinking.
So... Yeah, here is the nuanced answer from someone who could be just posting in Galician but chooses here on Tumblr to post in English. I hope it wasn't too much lol
Some self-portrait cartoons drew in February from my last sketchbook
Tomorrow I'll start posting art again online just because I really want to share my stuff with whoever wants to see it
The reason why I stopped is because I'm an animator and I spent most of my time doing art making animations. And it's really time consuming but also difficult to share, at least in my experience. So I can only share a few posts just with animation alone
But I want to get back to posting and sharing, here and on other spaces. And most of it will prob be drawings from my sketchbook because I'm not doing that much digital art. Although I really sant to get back to that so we'll see 🌞
Went to go see the movie bout some pretty amazing digging

Transphobia is about to be signed into law in the UK. We can fight this.
I am begging the UK trans community and its allies to attend the Mass Lobby at Parliament on June 25th, 11am-4pm, organised by Trans Solidarity Alliance.
Last year we broke the record for an LGBT+ mass lobby of Parliament. Will you help us break it again? Join us on 25th June 2026 to demand be
The new EHRC Code of Practice pushes trans people out of toilets, hospital wards, and community spaces. It normalises gender policing based on appearance and stereotypes. It becomes statutory guidance in the UK by the end of June.
Trans people are now legally their assigned gender at birth and must join gendered spaces accordingly, but if they are perceived as their lived gender, they can also be ejected from those spaces. The guidance says: either break the law, or don’t pass too well.
A mass lobby is where you invite your MP to discuss your concerns with you in-person. Ask your MP to:
Demand full parliamentary scrutiny, debate, and use their free vote on the EHRC Code of Practice.
Support any motions rejecting the EHRC guidance. As of June 4th, Labour MP Nadia Whittome has submitted a prayer motion - Early Day Motion 240.
Write to Bridget Phillipson, the Minister for Women and Equalities about our concerns
Your MP does not have to be an ally, they do not have to respond to your email for you to show up and greencard them (details below the cut.) What matters is that as many people as possible show up.
I cannot stress this enough: Showing up in person matters. It is much more effective than petitions, emails, and letters.
It is a horrible, stressful time, and I am so sorry if you're trans and live in the UK. But I was at last year's mass lobby and the line for greencarding alone stretched around the back gates. It was a record breaking mass lobby and made us impossible to ignore. Let's do even better this time. Details under the cut:
