Some lore/fun facts;
Ms Cooke baked her human form. She is basically a gingerbread man, when the famine starts and food rots, so does she from the inside out. She doesn't possess anyone but crafts her form, unlike Pest and War.
Tristan is a Chronomancer, he can hear everyones internal clock ticking down, he's fascinated with figuring out what makes people tick. He rewinds the clock slightly on the corpses he uses, winding them up like clockwork toys to function for a limited time, sort of night at the museum style. He can't use evil corpses simply because he can't figure out how their clocks should 'tick' to rewind them. He also has a pet cat that was his first taxidermy, that 'sleeps' through the day mostly. He's also not exactly aware of the full extent of his magic being a little prodigy and working entirely on instincts and vibes and not practice or research which absolutely infuriates the necromancer.
Phoebe got the antiques store from Deedee (Medium) when she became bed ridden from illness. Two eccentrics vibing! Though she might uh clock the coven too hard with her scrying ball and have to be silenced permanently.
Akan is able to see peoples auras, he chooses to wear the blindfold to enhance the sight of his third eye and focus on the auras of people, having meditated and practiced his talents for years as a travelling merchant before moving into Salem.
Dexter kind of indirect to the mafia, he enjoys cleaning, he doesn't ask questions. He gets notified and payed and doesn't care for the details, he might've done his fair share of messy work before moving to Salem.
Fauna loves making little squirrel and bird houses around. She is a nature mage and always has flowers of all kinds even those that should be out of season or are hard to grow in certain climates.
Spencer is like honestly borderline egotist, and about one silly away from blackmailer. His bugs aren't always for safety, being given a restraining order by the socialite, banned from the estate, for placing cameras in peoples bedrooms and bathrooms. And also had a large amount of his camera and film confiscated by the investigator, well he has enough dirt to not make it all, he tends to sell the material he collects on the black market. He doesn't really care who wins as long as he does, a good time, he'll happily backstab any one of any faction.
Connie uses their mom's maiden name as their alias, bc their father happened to be the man who started the rebellion in Salem and was executed for it. On his death he declared he didn't have any children, and they were written out. A guard pretty much smuggled them out of town to avoid having them also executed, tried to have them adopted by a nice couple, nice couple might've actually been part of mafia's trafficking ring. They went through several 'foster' homes, before being deemed too difficult and abandoned in a basement to starve, being later saved by the coven. Moving back into Salem. They also had an older sister, her name was Dawn. Their originally lived in the capitol, their mother worked in the palace and was accused of food tampering/poisioning, they made Dawn test the blamed food, it had been poisoned by someone else, Dawn died and their mom was executed, their father then left the capitol and moved to Salem with Connie and started up the rebellion against the king.

Anyway. Had the usual problem of making my art wayy too... disharmonied? Like the colors don't like eachother I mean. But I think it ended up okay.

Betsy L’morte (True wolf; Werewolf, 600s, appears around mid 30s, She/her, 165cm) - Chef and owner of ‘The crimson bite’ Restaurant. Betsy bets yer won’t find anythin’ ‘alf as good or ‘alf as rare as ‘ere! Energetic chef and true momma bear, with an eye for detail and a nose for a good meal!
Minnie L’morte (Dhampir/ half-vamp, 500s, appears around 30, She/her, 169cm) Owner of the “crimson bite” restaurant. Happy go lucky little lady, an excellent server that has plenty to say and a myriad of recommendations.
Teucer L’morte (Retributionist, 18, He/him 180cm) - adopted by Betsy & Minnie L’morte at 12. Works at the “Crimson bite” restaurant as a waiter, family business, getting much doted on by his moms and taught many important things about food, magic and the occasional necessary murder. {void + Imaginary, Discordian - Necromancy magic}
Corvin Pernicious (Tos1 Poisoner, 34, He/him,175cm) - Chef at the Crimson bite restaurant. Previously a poison taster at the capitol during the mad king's rule. Treats poisons like spices, has developed an immunity/tolerance to most of them. A little thrilling, masochistic, poisons might just be his aphrodisiacs, non magic, just nerd. Food cooked so good, you can’t resist and won’t notice a single thing off! Mostly responsible for dealing with any who get too suspicious of the nature of his bosses.

True wolf werewolfs - are born werewolves. They can shapeshift from man to monster to full wolf form. They have extremely long lives and can be effectively immortal unlike turned werewolves. They also have the ability to convert other people into werewolves with their bite. While turned werewolves cannot. They often have greater control over their transformation if not having it completely to their whims by a certain age instead of at the will of the moon. Though they'll still turn with the full moon they'll be conscious and in control at all points.
Dhampyrs - the product of a human and a vampire having a baby. Dampyrs have special requirements like needing both human food and blood, unlike vampires they are not immortal but live extended lives compared to humans. Dampyrs cannot convert people, and are effectively infertile with some rare cases in which they produce only human (or in the case of mating with another magical creature that creature) offspring. They are not hurt by sunlight but may be light sensitive.

isnt it maddening how one day ur 9 and u go to middle school and cub scouts and all the kids are cursing and making dirty jokes and drawing dicks and repeating offensive shit they got from watching south park and family guy on their bedroom tv after their parents have gone to bed (on the same channel that shows kids cartoons during the day) and playing horrifically violent games on newgrounds and a handful of the kids u know have straight up told u they do coke, then next thing u know ur an adult and the ppl around u expect u to act like even the slightest exposure to potentially objectionable content or depictions of the human body will instantly and irreversibly shatter any childs fragile innocent mind
and theyre like "prove to me this wont traumatize my children!" and even the ppl who agree w u go "well u see, in other cultures, and in the ancient past, and if u look at this study-" but like. my source is every child whos ever grown up at any point in human history. open ur eyes. we have never been able to stop kids from seeing and repeating adult stuff and we never will, and its always just been fine
This is seriously something I think about constantly but doesn't feel appropriate to bring up in any of these conversations. ID verification requirements are bad because they open people up to identify theft and doxing and surveillance, yes. But there IS a real part of me who thinks there is something developmentally appropriate about exploring adult topics online in places you know aren't for you. Obviously, there's a limit to that, and there ARE dangers for kids online (thinking, for instance of the current Roblox Schlep situation) but the Internet is also one of the SAFEST ways to learn about mature topics, after reading about them in books (which are also being banned because "think of the children!").
Kids aren't going to be traumatized from stumbling upon porn or fictionalized violence or curse words. Learning boundaries online is something parents (and maybe schools) should be helping teach, but, I'm sorry, I think my belief that access to information is a human right is somewhat stronger than the concern that some kid looking for porn because they just started puberty will, in fact, find porn.

The owner of "V&M Tailors and toymakers", despite being blind you can say he has an eye for fashion, though it's that very thing that might've cost him his sight as he lost it due to exposure to the fact a lot of dyes happen to quite toxic. Started his business at 17, after working as a shoe-maker's assistant, alongside a man called Morris Valentines, who might've died of perfectly natural circumstances following a minor disagreement in the later years of their collaboration.
Medelyn Stone - Medusa, She/her. The oldest friend of the coven leader and the last of the original founding coven, currently runs a boutique in town known as "Stunning Styles" and honestly, if you have questions about the fashion, her gaze just so happens to have a drop dead gorgeous sense of appreciation for details and techniques lost over centuries.
Conrad "Connie" Jones Jr - Conjurer, 26, They/them, also goes by Connie Smith. Owner of 'Smith's jewellery' the local jewellery store. Their father was an old blacksmith that might've ran a rebellion against the crown after his wife was executed on (false) charges of tampering/poisoning food, as a kitchen maid in the palace. The rebellion failed, their father was burnt at the stake and they would've joined him if a local bodyguard hadn't smuggled them out, where they went through multiple foster families before being abandoned in the basement for their unruly magic and later found by the necromancer.
Lulu Leporids - Illusionist, 30, She/they. The grand theatre's safety manager! Assistant to acts, stage magician and runs the occasional Saturday bingo. When she's not busy at work she likes to turn into a rabbit and nap on the backstage bench, she might be evading taxes this way as well.

Neil Morgans - Necromancer, 45, He/they. Ex- court physician, and royal advisor. Was exiled from the capitol when the kings sentiments against magic grew more severe, shortly before he called for the mage hunts to begin. They moved so Salem as work as a private physician, an uptight duke but a very good doctor.
