is this a life? i don’t know. i make another cup of coffee. stare at a tree from my balcony. write in my journal. take a hot shower. i call my sister and say nothing of value. she listens anyway. i make another coffee. read a book that gives me bad dreams. pick up my pen to write and put it back down. another flip of the calendar i carry in the center of my chest. i am learning to let my heart open up again
“Do it scared” “do it badly” it’s time to drop the guide for do it alone
Doing it scared and doing it badly is one thing, but no one seems to talk about doing it alone. When you feel so isolated from your friends and your family but you have shit to do and you have to get it done no matter what. When your support system really is only you. For any myriad of reasons. We do not talk enough about doing it alone.

lowkey might fuck around and pursue my goals with reckless abandon because I have so many people who love me and believe in me and they’ll always outweigh the naysayers and the pitfalls idk
once you do you will realise there wasn't much holding you back besides yourself. and for once in life you will feel invincible
there are very few things in this world that I am certain of and this is one of them.
top three activities
- crying over spilt milk
- rubbing salt in the wound
- making a mountain out of a molehill
art will save you, being unreasonably passionate about something niche will save you, letting past sources of joy show you the way back to yourself will save you, earnestness over composure will save you, the natural world will save you, caring for something bigger than yourself will save you, daring to be seen will save you, kindness not as a whim but a principle will save you, appreciation as a practice will save you, daring to try something new will save you, grounding will save you, love will save you, one good nights sleep will save you
They should invent a method of asking for reassurance that nobody secretly hates you that doesn't make people secretly hate you.
this reply deserves to be here.
ID: a reply by time-compass that reads "Try actively listening for assurance. I found I just missed it because I was so preoccupied with my own thoughts, but really today's assurance came in the form of my roommate offering to share the dinner she made. It came in the form of my coworker raising his eyebrows, impressed with my work. I found it in my father's hearty laugh at a gimmick I showed him. People won't sit you down and tell you directly; switch your overanalyzing from internal to noticing good things." /End ID
