My two bits on for @rooted-clangen ych!

Root is found by Grandma Crowriver, who was out trying to find a patch of mint. Instead, she finds a kitten all alone on deserted lands. Obviously, being a mother herself, she couldn't bear to leave the poor thing alone. So she takes the kitten back to Frozenclan to raise her. Crowriver is insanely popular in Frozenclan. She's the lead healer, and half of the other healers are her children or kin. Voidstar is her son, and is happy to welcome the stranded kit into the clan.

Root would still become a healer, right beside Crowriver's grandson, and Voidstar's son, Windkit/Windclash. They'd probably get along pretty well, bonding over their shared love of the purple she-cat who helped raise them and her mate, Joob, who tells the best stories.

Also Crowriver's family is absolutely massive. I'll do a tree eventually....

♡ BRANCHCLAN CHARACTER DESIGN CONTEST RESULTS ♡

Today's the day!!! The results are in for the character designing contest and it's time to see whose design will be an official part of BranchClan history!

Before we start, I wanted to once again thank everyone who participated so so much. You guys had so many fun designs, entries, and little quirks (That I may or may not still add to certain characters, hehe). Believe me, it was hard to choose some of these designs.

I also wanted to give a huge thank you to all of you in general!! Idk where BranchClan would even be without all of your support for it, and you guys are so incredibly sweet and kind to me. Thank you, truly. Love y'all. <3

Leon

I'll be honest. A lot of you had some REALLY good Leon designs. But this one caught my eye the moment I saw it. The design I'll be using for Leon is this one, drawn by @a-dumb-bitch-apparently !! ♡

I was so obsessed with the Leon Kennedy motifs. The hair, the radiation symbol on the chest, the bite mark...It all came together and looked so so good in cat form! I fear this design was one I had in consideration from the start with how good it was...I love it. A lot. <3

Aspenfern

Aspenfern's design was one I couldn't even think about myself, so I was surprised to see that people not only designed him, but made him look absolutely fantastic! This handsome, arrogant boy is now officially designed by @ariverslegacy !! ♡

Again, I love how he looks colorwise and absolutely adore the fern motifs on him <3 I love how you turned the giant heart on his chest into some heart-shaped ferns!! I think you did a fantastic job with the posing and the "arrogant" vibe that he hopefully gives off during his future debut. 👀

Owlflight

Now this lady had a beautiful beautiful sprite in-game, and you guys didn't disappoint when it came to making her look absolutely gorgeous. But sadly I couldn't choose multiple winners for one cat (unless I came up with a good reason to clone them in the story, lmao). The design that caught my eye the most is the one drawn by @rayratman !! <3

The spots on the chest, the wing-like markings, the eyebrows, and the spots under the eyes are what really drew me to this girlie's design! Very angie-like (hehe). I'm also obsessing over the way you drew her body type, she looks so so cute. She looks absolutely precious here and I am so excited to draw her when it's her time to shine!! <3

Pipitfall

Pipitfall's sprite is NOT an easy one to translate into art, but you guys delivered some stunning results. I was floored. I had trouble choosing with this one too, but in the end, I found myself very drawn to the design made by @flametheartist !! ♡

I never considered that Pipit could be a long cat before...Maybe I'm a bad person (joking). But yeah. The second I saw this I became a Long Pipit truther. I love the way you translated the very complex sprite design into something that was easy to draw, but still very unique and gorgeous. And the way you incorporated the accessory into her Dark Forest Bond...Chef's kiss oml. Amazing job.

Beepool (Aka "Beep")

Now we're getting down to the final two, who I like to call Mr. And Ms. Popular. There were so many entries for Beep and Beampetal that I had a mini panic attack trying to choose a winner. Lol. Anyway, I decided I wanted the design by @a-dumb-bitch-apparently to be our winner for Ms. Popular herself, Beep.

I'll be honest, she was NOT an easy cat to design for me. I love the way you made her look like her sprite, but simplified it enough for her to look cute and BranchClan-like. And the added little headcanons are what really sold it for me. The folded ears especially, knowing who her parents are...Hehe. She looks so sweet and kind in this design which is exactly what I wanted for her. So there's Ms. Beep. Love her. <33

Beampetal

Last but FAR from least (especially since i wanna do another character design contest later) is Beampetal. This guy...Popular doesn't even begin to describe him. The children (you guys) yearn for the Beampetal. There were so many amazing designs that I wanted so badly to use...But in the end, the design drawn by @flametheartist won my heart.

How could I say no to that face?? And the subtle but still there petal designs on him are so so good. I was particularly won over by the little description the artist gave for him. The thought of this little guy having chronic arthritis that he relieves through swimming was genius. I'm absolutely using that. And he just looks so small and precious with this posing and just...Augh. Beampetal my absolute beloved I cannot WAIT to see you. <3

Aaaand...That's that!! Again, thank you all SO MUCH for your entries!! If your design wasn't used please don't be discouraged or think that it was your design or artstyle. Trust me, there are some I went back and forth on because I just could not choose. Everyone did an absolutely fantastic job designing these cats and I once more thank you so much, both for the designs and for the support. Congratulations to the winners!! More siblings! Morphius was a loner who's mate was run over when they were traveling to the mountains. Midnight took over the care of the kits, and they were eventually found by one of Crowstar's patrols. Luckily, the young leader took them in.

Thus began the journey of Grandma Crowriver! That's later, though.
