She turned back to him, picking his still-lit cigarette up off the floor. The steps to his side were slow and deliberate. They seemed to echo in the too-quiet chamber, masked only by her pointed exhale after a long drag. She felt almost nothing but the warmth of the pistol in her hand.

“Yeah,” Raina murmured. She stood over him and watched the inhuman blue light in his eyes flicker, then fade to nothing. “It is.”
