write more ships involving asexual characters
and write those ships where the sexual half decides to not have sex for their asexual partner
not where the asexual partner decides to have sex for their sexual partner
just because a story has LGBT characters doesn't automatically makes it good.
accurate.
also accurate: stories that have LGBT characters, especially ones that are written for a queer audience instead of a straight audience are very hard to find and our promoting and publishing them helps those who are looking for them to find them.
even more accurate: GOOD stories with LGBT characters will never exist unless people support them, are willing to publish them, and get them into the hands of the readers who are desperate to see themselves represented in quality fiction.
thus why we’re doing what we’re doing.
ASEXUAL REPRESENTATION MATTERS
quit depicting aromantics as bitter unhappy people 2k15
You have six four days left to order a t-shirt and support LGBT lit through Vitality Magazine’s teespring t-shirt sales!
The last day to order is 07/20, and after that, the price will go up and only be available as print on demand shirts.
If you’re wondering what Vitality Magazine is or why you should support it, you can download our FREE July issue to see what we’re about! (Also learn how to submit your own stuff and subscribe to the magazine)
I just really want a movie or a book where an asexual or a romantic character faces a siren and the siren is really confused about what to lure them in with and the siren just kinda goes “ok you can pass then I guess”
Sketchbook doodle!
I want Orson’s shirt. I tried explaining to my friend this morning that it was an ace joke, and he just gave me a blank look. How DO you explain the cake thing to non-aces??
[ASEXUAL WRITERS (Asexual Alligator) DON’T JUST BANG IT OUT OVERNIGHT]
me: i really relate to this character
me: they're ace
And there it was again. The feeling that came over me every time this subject came up, as though I was standing on one side of some vast and uncrossable abyss and everybody else I knew was waving at me from the other.

So, I dunno about you, but I’m tired of media that gives subtext without actual relationships. I made a special version of the print for a particular series that always come to mind anytime I think of an example of queerbaiting.

look what the mailman just gave me!
Amazon Japan FINALLY sent me the first of two copies of “The Invisible Orientation” by swankivy that i pre-ordered nearly a month ago. why on earth Amazon could only procure one of my two copies is beyond me, but whatever.
Yuki already approves of this book and i’ll be parking myself in a cafe with it later today. i’m a slowass reader so don’t expect comments too soon, but i’m going to do my best to get through this quickly as this will be the highlighted copy that i forward to my mom. :)

Me: *points at character* AROMANTIC
so i just finished this AMAZING book and i think some of y’all would probably like it too
cool narrative structure with two parallel stories told in alternating chapters
awesome female protagonists in both
one is a first-time young adult novelist, just out of high school and nervous about editing her manuscript and establishing a new life for herself in NYC
the other is the heroine in her finished novel, a teen girl who escapes a terrorist attack by temporarily willing herself into the afterlife
the novelist is a demisexual woc with a lesbian love interest
she struggles with issues of cultural appropriation and impostor syndrome and what constitutes someone’s “real name”
there are really cool developments in the book-within-a-book that clearly reflect the stuff the writer character is going through
idk it’s just really great
