Okay, so I genuinely need to get this out because it’s DRIVING ME INSANE. Phoenix by Imperfect. Fanmade lms for Azure and Two Time right? Hot take, Incarnate by Quest fits more with Azure and Two Time’s lore, and if I had to pick an lms to be canon, I’d pick Incarnate.

I KNOW I’m gonna get flamed, but still. Your decision to keep reading below the cut if you want lol (even then I don’t play the game. I’m only here for the characters, so azuretime enthusiasts, this is for you)

Phoenix is a really good song, don’t get me wrong. Absolute banger. I can also hear some of the vibes of Azure and Two Time. It sounds haunting and eerie while still being a banger. However. While the vibes are there, I’d more or less give it a thumbs up at shooting close to canon. Could be better, but I’ll take it. And why the Undertale leitmotif? The Battle Of A True Hero leitmotif DOES fit, with Azure getting justice for himself by killing his murderer. But it’s an UNDERTALE leitmotif in FORSAKEN.

However, Incarnate on the other hand, I have nothing but praise for it. It starts off relatively slow before throwing you into main melody. And it as a whole feels EXACTLY like Azure’s heart break and utter fury towards Two Time. All throughout the song, it feels exactly like a lms that would be canon and that would fit Azure and Two Time. More in detail, the start feels like if Azure was reconsidering everything. Remembering his past memories with Two Time, remembering his love for them, and now seeing them terrified in front of him. As the beat drops, he throws it all away, letting anger take over himself as he believes Two Time deserves nothing but suffering. And the instruments too. Somewhere (I don’t remember exactly but I’ll edit this and source it as soon as I find it) it was mentioned that Azure played the guitar and Two Time played the violin. And well, both instruments feature in the song as key roles. The guitar as the main melody, and later on, violin comes in as the backing. The acoustic guitar also is heard in the beginning, as if Azure felt calmer before it dropped into electric. More on that, you can not only hear the anger in the guitar, but the guilt in the violin. Example for the violin, that one section where the violin solos. The music video even has a little animated section of Azure picking up the photo Two Time had of them and him, with his face crossed out. The violin solo fades as Azure’s expression changes, and you’re thrown into the duet. The duet itself feels like a twisted slow dance for survival. It ends with the violin screeching out, as if the round ended with Two Time begging for mercy. Overall, it is LITERALLY composed in the instruments they played, and I CANNOT see how someone wouldn’t regard this as canon to the characters.
