I feel like they made Percy too smart this season

The issue is that we are meant to believe from the books that he is dumb, because the books are from his perspective. Since the TV show is able to show us Percy from the outside perspective he comes off as much smarter, closer to how other people perceive him. Percy is an unreliable narrator and we need to remember that!!

The reason Poseidon couldn’t show up on the beach was because he was too busy holding Zeus back from hurling a lightning bolt at Percy for the son of Kronos crack.

He heard Percy’s prayer and called for Hermes while he and Zeus were in a double headlock trying to punch each other in the gut. So that’s why Poseidon only got “Quest Approved” out before Zeus got in a really good sucker punch.

Apollo, Ares, and Aphrodite were watching on the sidelines taking bets. Hera had already taken to her rooms cause she was over it.
