‘Bloom’ 🌹 where do I even start.

This is by far, my most favourite piece of work - EVER. It’s stunning and I’m proud of it - the best creative moments come to you as if you’re a conduit. It works through you and becomes its very own creation, much life the journey of life. 🌹 This song is quite simply my acceptance of life... Vs death and the absolute beauty it beholds. We aren’t to dissimilar from the bloom of a flower... 🌹 We sprout up, spend our time blooming into the best version of ourselves - we cop some damage, we survive and if we’re lucky... We get to wither away peacefully, back into the Earth. 🌹

'Pray', from 'New World' by Ameera ♥️

This song is one of my favourites and very close to my heart. It follows on from ‘Home’ using the same cello motive. ‘Pray’ is a representation, of what ancient prayer feels like to me. Feminine and masculine energies combine, bringing peace to the soul. This song is a celebration of life & death, and the beautiful journey it is. It was my aim to embody primitive prayer and the tribal nature of our ancestors. This year I researched ‘The Celts’ era during the Iron Age for a paper at University. I focused on the Carnyx, which is a towering vertical horn - bearing a boar’s head; and producing a haunting sound through its mouth. The Celts used this horn predominantly for war, but also at funerals, weddings and other community events. I decided to include similar horns in the chorus’s, to proclaim the arrival of an important event; prayer and celebration. I’ve also incorporated whispers of prayers & chants tucked into the mix - and the piece offers a transcendent deep connection of where we’ve come from 🙌🏼

‘Home’ from 'New World' by Ameera ♥️

I will post more about the journey to my album release! 🦋 I’m celebrating the journey, by sharing a samples of the songs; with a little story to inspire you about the music. This song is called ‘Home’ and it’s the Intro track to the album. Songwriting comes from many different places; a lyric, melody, chord or note – there’s many different ways to start a song. ‘Home’ came from a vision I had of the Highlands in Scotland. I imagined a solider at war away from his wife; before there was means of communication… I Imagined this woman at home, yearning to see her partner return. As the song was written and progressed, I realised the song was about coming home… The feeling of coming home to safety, love & support. As most of you know, that’s something I didn’t have growing up - so it’s something I can honour and give gratitude to as an adult. There’s nothing like coming ‘Home’ – no matter what trials & challenges you face in life, as an adult, you always have the power to create a home for yourself & others, that is a sanctuary for the soul. I thought this was the perfect message & Intro to my album. An invitation to all... To come home with my music, to be/feel safe, loved & supported.

Hey guys, I've been gone a long time.

The last time I posted on Tumblr was 2015. I used to post to Tumblr every other day. I was wild, free and happy most of the time. In 2015, I was travelling the World. Only to return, and find out not long after, that my Mum's cancer had returned; and it was terminal... My Mum passed away in 2018. When she died, a huge part of me died with her. Almost as if by living, I was betraying her. There is nothing but raw honesty left in me... I've been broken, I've lost it all, I fell down into the deepest darkest hole; and I'm still slowly re-building the pieces of my life, bit by bit. I rise day by day. Alot changed while I was gone... I have changed. Like a butterfly escapes it's cocoon, so have I been releasing myself of a life that no longer served me. I am back, to live, to write, to create... To be. Words, thoughts, my music and memories; are all that will be, when I too one day disappear... Permanantly. Until then - I've decided to be here.

Into the Redwoods

May these Redwood trees tingle at my fingertips. May its roots ground my spirit and inject me with Universal love. I feel it like pressure almost bowling me over. Magnetising every inch of my being. Beyond powerful these trees are teachers... Ancient beings, wise, silent and retreating; just being with them... Is energy enough to grow my roots, into their hollow ground, never to be found; happiness intertwined into the soil of Her Divine Earth. This is my Ode to Her Divine Earth.

Anger is like flowing water; it's a healthy and natural emotion - as long as you can let it flow. Hate is like stagnant water; anger that you denied yourself the freedom to feel, the freedom to flow; water that you gathered in one place and left to forget. Stagnant water becomes dirty, poisonous, deadly. Allow yourself to feel anger, allow your waters to flow like paper boats of forgiveness down a soothing stream. Be human.
