BUT on the upside i was so brave at my ultrasound appointment and advocated for myself and the woman administering it was so so so kind and helpful. things that worked for me:

telling her i get a vasovagal response to these kinds of things in general (great, she gave me a couple of alcohol pads to sniff if i felt like i was going to faint, helped a lot)

telling her she can tell me things are going good, how close we are to being done, "you'll feel a pinch" etc but that using anatomical terminology triggera vasovagal responses for me (extremely helpful. i need to tell everyone this going forward.)

making conversation (she also had some traumatic medical procedures in the past. it was nice to commiserate and she was very "i never want you to feel that way" so 👍)

wearing thigh highs (i always get cold + nice to have something between me and the fucking stirrups.)

wearing rings (distracting.)

god knows you're always at the mercy of whoever happens to show up to the other side of your medical appointment but glad it worked out well today 👍

#1 reading/resource recommendation for dog training? my father has acquired a 10wk old doberman and i have until mid-october (when i move) to train it properly (bc i know he wont). thanks in advance if youre able to answer <3

I'm not the best one to answer this as I've gotten all my info from people rather than books/online so there's likely some really good resources I'm not aware of. Hopefully other folks will add on to this for you!

Anything by Karen Pryor or Cattledog publishing (was Dr. Sophia Yin's company before she died) can be trusted.

And of course any time you're in need of something specific the community here is pretty wonderful.
