lay down your sword
in my experience a lot of the fandom hates fitz because of how he reacted to sophie being unmatchable. but like. he’s in love with her but he also knows how much scorn being a bad match will bring not just on him but his FAMILY. who have already been through so much. and on SOPHIE. who has gone through it too. people love painting him as selfish for this but he’s not
and also yes. he gets angry a lot. but he’s SO valid for it most of the time. the first time was when alden’s mind broke. which was. he was grieving, something elves are notoriously bad at. and he APOLOGIZED mind you. he acknowledged that he was terrible to sophie and he APOLOGIZED. and then again when he was angry at alvar. who again brought a bunch of scorn on not only fitz but his entire family. fitz had every right to be angry about that. and more so that he was the only one who was worried about letting alvar go back to everglen which was also so valid. alvar literally tortured some of his closest friends and everyone just shrugged it off. he wasn’t feeling seen or heard and he was reacting in the only way he knew how. fitz is NOT a bad person!!!

happy pride to sophie foster who always has something to say about how pretty biana’s glossy lips are or how cute linh looks blushing or how cool marellas hair is #iknowhatyouare

this guy on a different social media platform posted a photo of my book beside his large erect penis, and said "8/10, needed more smut" and I replied to his post saying "sorry, there will be smut in the sequel" and then realized that a bunch of actual professionals in real life who I've had dinner with and stuff follow that particular account of mine and would get that full interaction on their dashboard, so I had to delete it. anyway, apologies to that man for the confusing notification. your penis was very large, and it worked well to demonstrate the book's dimensions.

Farewell online privacy
What happened?
Trump happened.
just get a VPN?
You can’t just tell people to ‘get a VPN (Virtual Private Network)’. Buying a VPN is like buying a house. It’s very very important. Having no VPN or having a ‘wrong’ one can seriously damage your life. Especially for Americans because their privacy laws are garbage. I am going to try explain why you should get a VPN but bare with me, I am from Germany and my English is far from perfect.
Let’s start with a simple test. Click this link here: https://whatismyipaddress.com/ It will tell your IP adres, your ISP (internet service provider), and your location. The location might not be very accurate, but then again, it’s just a simple website. Imagine what the government can do!
So basically, everyone can find out where you live. But there is more danger. Your ISP. Your ISP logs your every move online and they are required to keep it in case the government wants access to it (or if a 3rd party wants to buy your data (yikes). They have everything. What websites you visit. How long you stay on a website. What you download. Your search terms. European laws are more subtle on this but if you are from the US you are #@*#&, especially because Trump doesn’t support the open internet. It’s scary but maybe in the future you can’t get a job because the recruiter knows your searched on ‘how to deal with depression’ or anythings else that’s supposed to be private because it’s your f*cking right. Or you get a $100k fine because you pirated a movie 15 years ago. You need a VPN. You’re dumb for not using one. but what does a VPN do?
A VPN encrypts all your data so if it were be intercepted no one can ‘crack the code’ and damage your privacy.
Usually being online goes like this (simplified): Your computer —-> ISP (—–> keeps data —–> sells it)
But with a VPN it goes like: Your computer —–> VPN (encrypts data)—–> ISP (ISP can’t see shit)
Furthermore, a VPN hides your IP address and location by giving you another IP address located in Spain for example (you can often choose from a list and change as many times as you want).
Now that you know why you should get a VPN and what is does it is important to educate yourself because people often choose the wrong VPN. VPN providers are also businesses and have to obey the law. If you choose a VPN provider located in the US then you are throwing your money away because the laws in the US shits on your privacy. If the US gov wants the provider to give all their logs they have to obey. The ISP still can’t see what you are doing online and sell your data but the US gov can interfere with your VPN provider so NEVER CHOOSE A PROVIDER LOCATED IN THE US.
I just wanted to make that very clear so my followers don’t buy false security.
There is still more danger! Who says your VPN provider isn’t selling your data? You need to check their logging policy. Do they keep logs? If yes, what for? For how long do they keep them? Tip: Choose a provider who doesn’t keep logs
More about law The US is part of the Five Eyes program (the worst):
The Five Eyes, often abbreviated as FVEY, is an intelligence alliance comprising Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. These countries are bound by the multilateral UKUSA Agreement, a treaty for joint cooperation in signals intelligence (source)
There is also a Nine Eyes (bit better) and Fourteen Eyes Program (better). You don’t want a VPN provider who is located in one the Five Eyes countries. If you had to choose go for a provider located in a country that’s part of the Fourteen Eyes Program or even better, go for a country that isn’t part of any program!
I know this is a shitty explanation and please pardon my english but now it’s time to do your own research. Take your privacy seriously. Maybe WWIII breaks out and you get killed for liking the ‘wrong’ FB-page.
Go to this website: https://thatoneprivacysite.net/simple-vpn-comparison-chart/
Make sure that your future VPN provider both has green boxes for Privacy Jurisdiction and Privacy Logging.
I recommend ovpn.se and trust.zone. ovpn is located in Sweden so they are part of the 14 Eyes Program and they keep minimal logs. Their business ethics, however, are alright.
Trustzone is located in the Seychelles. No country can interfere and their privacy jurisdiction is the best you can get. The US want your data but needs to get it from Trustzone? The Seychelles will simply give them the finger and wave them goodbye. However, this makes this provider very appealing for people who torrent and criminals because they keep no logs (and that is how it shoud be) Also, there are almost no marketing efforts so this provider is one the cheapest)
Also, often providers such as ExpressVPN are being called ‘The Best’ on websites about VPNs but know that this is just marketing which also makes those provider more expensive (and they too shit on your privacy)
This must be the worst article you have ever read but please, please take your privacy very seriously.
EDIT: I got many people asking me which provider I use. For those who want to know, I use Trust Zone. They offer a free 3-day trial with no strings attached. But still do your own research!
I am also with Trustzone but I think you forgot to explain one of it’s most important features. It protects you when you are using someone else’s Wi-Fi. If you are at Starbucks and you use their Wi-Fi your privacy is at risk. Anyone with ill intentions could steal your information. Especially if you are using an unsecured Wi-Fi hotspot. With a VPN your data gets encrypted so no one can steal it.
Wait, what’s going, on? Did trump destroy internet privacy with a bill or something? Where’s the news? Oh wait, why am I getting visions of Alex Jones and selling water purifiers?
He hasn’t yet but he says he wants to. And if he is serious about it it would be really easy to do. Since all our data is already recorded, as the person above explained.
Trump wants more surveillance of Muslim Americans. This in a country where internet privacy is already close to non-existent.
Trust.Zone has a free trial. Use it.
btw this post only has 11k notes? That’s quite disappointing for something this important.
Don’t reblog this post to save a life. Reblog this to protect an entire family!
@earth-ruins @writing-prompt-s Should I get trustzone for my mobile device?
If you use public Wi-Fi, then yes. Which VPN you use is up to you, amigo. Take @earth-ruins advice. Do your own research first.
@elvesfromthedeep just brought the current situation in the US to my attention (March 30, 2017).

Anger as US internet privacy law scrapped
Congress just voted to let internet providers sell your browsing history
To all my friends in the US, please read this entire post. Making everyone aware of VPNs is going to be my mission. Your privacy matters. Please reblog this post.
Don’t tell me you just wanted to scroll past this. Stop looking at pictures of cats for a moment, okay? Don’t you realize how important this is? This is dangerous! ‘America, the best FREE country in the world’ my ass.
With this new law your ISP can sell your Internet history which could include passwords, usernames, religion, credit card numbers, race and much more to the highest bidder. So here is what I want you to do. You are going to read the whole thing and before you think ’this is so important. Let me reblog this real quick and go back to admiring cats again-’ NO! Don’t reblog this. Take action first. Then reblog. Sign up for a free trial! Trust.Zone offers one (here). Yes. It might be difficult to set up a VPN for some people. But is that going to stop you from protecting yourself and your family? 30 minutes. 30 minutes is all that it takes. 5 if you know how to install software. The problem with some of you is that you see ‘difficult’ as something negative. I want you to see difficult differently. I need you to push through this stuff. You are going to protect yourself. There is nothing negative about that. VPNs are fun and costsaving too! A VPN bypasses geographical restrictions so you can access websites you normally can’t or you could start Netflix’s one month free trial over and over again- forever. And it’s legal! (unless you use it to buy weapons etc.,) Don’t tell yourself that you are too tired and that you will do this tomorrow. Because that isn’t going to happen and you know it. You have to do this right now. You only have to click on it. Don’t let this/shit/life just happen to you. Take yourself seriously. Get a VPN.
Privacy is not a privilege, it’s a fundamental human right
Hey is thatoneprivacysite still good? The link works and it does take me to an article about vpns, but it just looks like an ad for expressvpn with extra steps.
No they switched to https://thatoneprivacysite.xyz/#simple-vpn-comparison a couple years ago
Welcome to the VPN Comparison! This section is meant to be a resource to those who value their privacy, specifical...
I had Trust.Zone when this post first started making the rounds on Tumblr and I forgot about it after Biden took office. I recently sent them an email asking why my subscription wasn’t automatically renewed and why their website hasn’t changed since 2017(?). Their answer:
Shady people, good people, this company only cares about privacy and doesn’t care who it serves. But now with Trump and Musk this is the only VPN I’ll use.
I understand some people might not want to use this VPN on moral grounds, but it’s genuinely one of the very few VPNs set up in a way that no authority can touch you. ExpressVPN and other ‘popular’ options operate in jurisdictions favorable for profits but their privacy is just a band-aid our government can easily rip off if it demands information. I’m a trans man, I’m afraid of our government, and at this point, I simply don’t care anymore.
For a second I was like noooooo, not this long post again! Haven’t seen it in years and I always thought it was a bit extreme and exaggerated. Now that we are in 2025, I am like, nahh, these people knew what they were talking about all along. First time I am reblogging this.
Also I don’t think anyone has said this yet but the free trial only requires an email address. No credit card details or anything. Refreshing.
Could someone please put the link to the free trial here? I don’t want to scroll back up 10 miles. Thank you.
here you go @foxbridgeni
Trust.Zone Free Trial
The argument against VPNs has always been, “but I have nothing to hide.” Now that an unpredictable lunatic is in charge, purging based on whatever whim strikes him, that sentiment is quickly fading. VPNs aren’t just about hiding personal secrets; they’re about protecting freedom, autonomy, and your basic right to live without unjust scrutiny or arbitrary persecution.
Reblogging again bc this is important

I love y'all!!!!!!
Could you find any Valgrace fics that are set after The Burning Maze (and where Jason survives)?
Hey there! I've found a few, so here they are...
Catching Superman by @queenjunothegreat
Nico turned to head into the arena, and Jason was going to follow him but he stumbled slightly. Nico’s eyes widened, and he reached out a hand like he was going to help, but Leo beat him to it. He had plastered himself to Jason’s chest, feet planted so firmly that even Jason’s gigantor body couldn’t knock him over, and he gave Jason his cheesiest, most obnoxious smile. “Hey, Superman!” He glanced over his shoulder and nodded at Nico. “Bat Boy.” Jason blinked a couple times like he was trying to connect the dots, but he still reached a hand up and stroked Leo’s hair. “Hey, Leo.” “Whatcha up to?” “Um.” Jason paused and rubbed at his furrowed brow like he was struggling to remember. “I think we were about to, uh…” “Sparring,” Nico supplied. “Last time Thalia visited, she taught him a technique that he was going to show me.” Leo blew a raspberry. "Boo, no, that’s boring. It’s Boyfriend Time, actually. You’re going to spend all day with me.” *** Thanks to a deeply unfortunate amount of head injuries, Jason has chronic migranes. Thanks to a lifetime of servitude, he's also got a complex. Both are eqyally deblitating, but luckily Leo knows a thing of two about his boyfriend.
apotelesma by @ashafavs
The two are left staring at each other for a minute or so, though it feels more like eternity. Leo has absolutely no idea what to say, and clearly Jason doesn’t know either. What is there to say? Hey, sorry for freaking dying on you multiple times. We cool? It’s weird on both sides. Not to mention, looking at Jason—talking to him? It felt like every wound he’s ever had simultaneously burst open the moment Jason touched him. The moment Leo feels Jason’s warmth, knows he’s still there, real and alive, Leo feels something explode in his stomach, and—to be frank—it is not pleasant.
Or, alternatively: Piper McLean decides that she needs to one-up Orpheus. It is promptly made Leo's problem. For the PJO Equinox/Solstice Exchange!
Wait, I'm Coming with you by breakmart
He wondered what the Underworld would be like. Would he remember everything? Would it even be an escape at all? He wondered if he’d recognize anyone there. Would he walk right past his mom without realizing it? Or even Jason? Leo’s thoughts screeched to a halt. Jason. The Underworld. Oh, gods. Wait a minute, wait a minute— The myth came rushing back to him, bringing on a thrum of adrenaline. He jolted up, his heart banging in his skull. This was stupid. He was being stupid, and this was nothing but a desperate grasp at hope. He hadn’t worked through his grief yet, and he was still bargaining. There was no way he could do it, no way this could even formulate into a plan. Even so, his mind whirred, trying to fit nonexistent puzzle pieces together. OR "RIP to Orpheus but I'm different." - Leo Valdez
i could stare at your back all day by @dirty--girl--soup
jason sucks one of his cheeks into his mouth and bites down on it. he does that sometimes to keep himself from doing something stupid, like biting leo instead, like encasing his heartbeat in his teeth so he can feel it to ensure that leo’s here, blood coursing through his veins, like bringing leo’s hand to his own throat so he can ensure that jason’s here. ——— in which jason loves, remembers, and fumes.
eurydice by jasegrace
nico’s silent for a moment, before he says, “we can set up the punch-leo-valdez station again. you didn’t get to punch him the last time.” “can i get more than one ticket?” he peeks at nico through his fingers. nico grins back. “you get vip access, unlimited punches complimentary. our chief guest - jason eurydice grace." - jason discusses his resurrection with nico.
We hope you enjoy! Leave kudos, leave a comment, and happy reading!

sometimes i remember i can literally draw whatever i want so hi flower crown sophiana. happy birthday to ME !!!!
katy perry thinking of you with sobiana and fitz.. “i wish that i was looking into your eyes”… sophie almost being able to pretend fitz is biana when looking into his eyes…….??
Oh the superboy being Fitz and the invisible girl being Biana actually hurts me so bad.
parents in the '80s often had no clue where their kids were, and the wheelers are a perfect caricature of this.
in s2 mike is with will and wearing the same clothing for several days in a row. did nobody think to bring him a change of clothes? if they couldn't force him to leave will's side, why did nobody at least take care of him? if not the overstressed joyce, why not his parents?
but mike doesn't complain. he tries to be there for will, bundles up and sleeps on the floor in his freezing room, tries to carry will and helps joyce walk during the massacre, and yet in all five seasons, he only ever receives comfort from an adult when he fully breaks down. mike is extremely competent in traumatic situations and believes his own emotions matter less than the pain of others... and nobody ever actually proves him wrong. they lean on him and expect him to behave like he's an adult, but punish him and otherwise interact with him like he's a child. mike seeks comfort from his mother, but never emotional openness. why is this?
caveat: ted is barely a presence in his own house, and that's all i really need to say. he does the bare minimum, so any moment he cares about anything people start glazing him for it. so, this post is not karen bashing or ted apologism — i just have much more to say about karen.
despite claiming to be a safe space karen never actually has a heart-to-heart with mike. yes, in s1 her attempt to open that door was inconvenient and impossible, which she couldn't know, and for years he's forced to keep a lot to himself, struggling without being able to say why.
but even if he couldn't talk about the supernatural stuff, his parents know his will "died" and returned, know mike harboured a fugitive (??), know will was in the hospital again in s2, know his best friend of a decade moved away, know eddie was a wanted "murderer" and then died, know max is in a coma, and he exhibited repeated cries for help, like uncharacteristic behavioural issues, slipping grades, a plagiarized essay when english is his favourite subject, and periods of self-isolating in the basement/his room pre-s2 and pre-s4... and yet, nothing.
mike is a middle child, often overlooked, and is the only son, which means emotional work is seen as less necessary. he's a boy, he can manage. yes, karen has three children, she is depressed and overworked and struggling badly as well, but that just contributes.
she tries to say that he can talk to her, but is she present? or checked out? obviously the latter, so the offer rings hollow when she just leaves the ball in his court for years on end. she never truly pushes him to talk even when he’s self-isolating and clearly depressed, and when the behavioural issues start she and ted punish him by taking his belongings and lecturing him instead of getting to the emotional root of the problem. even if he seemed to be shutting them out, it is their responsibility to nip this in the bud and help their child. instead, they punish him for being depressed.
obviously this is a very realistic style of parenting, even now but especially for the '80s, and i don’t expect them to be these super emotionally engaged parents (especially considering their marriage). but clearly neither does mike. so i just find it kind of funny when the fandom often frames him as ungrateful to karen, when he’s in fact a kid who’s been struggling with his mental health alone for four years and has gotten about… one or two offers to talk about it, zero follow through, and a side of punishment and lectures.
this extends to nancy and mike’s relationship. they too are quite uncommunicative, and even though she says she’s going to try to be a better sister to him, neither of them seem to actually follow through on that. now, like karen and mike, nancy is also struggling. in fact, her grief and survivors guilt go largely unacknowledged by everyone in her life. so i don't blame her — it is simply a fact that they don't actually have the sibling relationship that even they know they should try to have, especially after all they’ve been through.
the wheelers have a tendency to make promises and never follow through. i can see karen trying to be more engaged after will was rescued, but slowly falling off again as she slipped into worse depression. i think nancy and mike learned that, regardless of offers of safety and comfort, they need to shoulder their burdens alone, and have trouble trusting others with their pain — whether it's because they're not taken seriously, or because they don't feel they deserve to burden others. let's be depressed and isolated with mama!!
after mike saw will's dead body and was down in the basement, ted asked if he should talk to him, and karen said they should let him come to them. meanwhile, mike seemed to know his parents weren't gonna check on him, as he was fully comfortable having el out in the open while karen and ted were just upstairs. the next day, karen says "if you need anything, you call your father", which is a nice offer, but, again, nothing more than that.
they behave as if he is more mature than he is, capable of managing, when sometimes you just have to force that conversation to happen. but they don't. which is quite typical for a generation that needed a PSA to know where their children were every night. it’s always up to mike, his choice, but sometimes... it shouldn’t be. sometimes, after your twelve year old son sees his best friend's corpse, you shouldn't leave him in a basement alone. sometimes you need to be the adult, and not put the responsibility of making the mature decision to open up on a grieving child.
we notice later how karen says nancy can keep some old things from the attic (which nancy didn’t even express interest in), when before mike saying his toys had emotional value was seen as childish and he was told he shouldn’t have acted out if he didn’t want to lose his things. perhaps it's karen learning from her mistakes, but it doesn't come with increased communication, and is likely more an example of the difference between how boys and girls are raised. but perhaps it's both... a gesture to do right this time, even if it's fundamentally meaningless.
i don’t think they’re horrible, scummy people — nowhere near lonnie — but they don't have to be for us to acknowledge that they let their children down. they aren't perfect by any means and acting like either, even karen, is a model parent is completely unreasonable. they’re doing what they think is right... but that doesn’t MAKE it right.
