currently only watched Scott's POV ( I knowww, really basic), but I'm watching both Shelby and Owen's POVs right now whenever I'm able to ☆ wbu?

because of my friend (who is never on tumblr so i won't tag her) practically pinning me down and making me watch them, scott and owen's POVs alongside each other (which. was an experience. especially around episode seven.)

but i would like to watch shelby's at some point, is it good?

also the contrast between scott and owen's episodes does make me laugh a little

oo and also also (sorry, thought trains getting ahead of themselves, you know how it is) what did you think about scott's finale?

Shelby's truly is a comedy show, but also really emotional when you think about a lot of the main themes in Vampires SMP, like her and Avid? or Pyro? absolutely tragic.

(love a thought train, I can never stop when it comes to something I absolutely adore. also, did you really have to stake me in the bloody heart with the reminder of episode 7? T-T)

honestly, I really wasn't seeing the flaws with Scott's finale that so many people seem to fixate on (that may be because I've only watched his POV so far, we may never know)

I do actually quite like the conclusion to become a better person, even if I expected a truly tragic ending, either him to go on a murder spree to kill Owen and Pyro or die by the hands of the militia. but the whole redemption thing, while it definitely could've been executed better (it was a bit abrupt), honestly, I really think v!Shelby had a huge influence over v!Scott as they were such polar opposites, and the whole emotionally connection with the rest of the flock (especially v!Avid) really opened up his eyes.

I also just like flawed characters, that's a really obvious thing with me. controversial characters with bittersweet endings is my roman empire, and v!Scott checks every box.

I posted this tell me I posted this. I am going to repost this and ash if I didn't post this kindly slap me across the face with a rubber fish or suchlike. /me finding this in my drafts and going oh fuck no

mixed feelings about the finale- i do like it. it's fun and I like a little bit of redemption arc here and there. it. i would have preferred it if it had been less abrupt, as you said. it does amuse me immensely to know that Scott, the vampire who has canonically murdered thousands, gets off with being redeemed and gets to skip around New York with Shelby. it's awesome. and a great example of the smajor effect.

I would like to watch one of the townspeople's POVs, actually on the subject, because I feel like in neither of the one's I've watched does another side of Scott get shown but apparently a lot of other POVs have him perceived more as a villain which. like. fair.

however there is part of me that, regardless of how much I can write mental fanfics for days about Scott's emotions being unlocked by his fledgelings (and avid!!!) which caused him to become something of a better person and go on to get out of the castle and live in a city with his friends hooray, would have liked the ending to be a bit more. well. bloody?

the fact that a lot of people got out alive and happily and they just made peace then, at that point, when everyone had really settled down to the idea of outright war, sort of annoys me? because like. it could have been incredible if they fought and it was like the rest of the series, violent and tragic and all of that. if it had been earlier on when they had still been semi-seriously working towards a truce (Scott having a friendly conversation with half the town about the benefits of vampirism 'no more sore backs after sleeping funny' or something like that is one of my favourite scenes in the entire series full stop -> . ) I would have loved it but. I don't know

v!Avids screams definitely don't haunt my dreams, and I absolutely don't think about the tragedy of his character every day nope, not me woahwhatwasthatmust'vebeenthewind

honestly, exactly that. the whole season did kinda seem to 'set up' a big bloody and tragic finale, and while I'm pretty sure that's exactly how Legundo, Ren and Martyn's POVs went, I haven't watched them :D so I can't know, and truly after that whole devastating cliffhanger ("I'll make sure to kill them for you." SOMEBODY SEDATE ME-)

truly, I'll take anything at this point. Angst With a Happy ending with a lovely ever after once Scott gets over his emotional constipation? incredible. wreaking bloody havoc to avenge Avid and Scott bleeding out John Wick style by the towns beacon in the same spot louis was burnt at the stake? lovely, I'll take 12 of them.

(another thing was, I'm really desperate to watch one of the militia or just the townsfolks POV, because truly i need to see the smajor effect from the other side T-T hes absolutely insane in love cc!Scott and v!Scott so much.)

ooh yeah, the opportunity for tragic contrast from the beginning to the end would've been SO good. symbolism is ultimately my favourite thing in media. it's my roman empire, and no one can take it away from me. shoo shoo. it's mine.

but yeah! I guess you can't expect too much since there's not much you can do with a free minecraft series with zero planned plot and a goofy minecraft vampire bite simulation, but not getting a better ending might not be a bad thing. cause we get to write it! honestly, fanfiction and fan media are the greatest things I've ever come across. bloodletting wasn't a concept till the fandom came up with it, and I'm so grateful for that fact.

anyway, ending may be somewhat lacklustre despite the comedic value, but the series is incredible. It's a really great example of a piece of media that's good for fan content. the chances for alternate universes, the plot holes that don't impact the plot by existing, but we can fill them in, the GAY SHIT- it's truly a masterpiece.

don't even worry your fuzzy head about how long this is. I just typed out 7 paragraphs about a gay vampire minecraft smp in 4 minutes, and this is the most 'social' interaction I've had in a while. we're in the same boat here ☆

gods i. avid is just so. i think owen says later in the series, maybe around the burning of oakhurst? that he hasn't changed by becoming a vampire? he was a vampire hunter and he hated vampires and worked against them with a passion. and then he gets turned and he just stays the same but against the humans instead of the vampires. there is no real difference. and it. i. ahskhfkadhfkafhkaf avid's whole character eats me alive. 'i want to go home' and 'not like this' the tragedy may have sort of had me writing a bit of a hadestown au which was very mean to myself

it is a little bit of an annoyance with me that scott says (incredible line and scene, though, i do love that scene) 'i'll make sure to kill them for you' and then. shelby kills pyro owen kills himself (question question question. have you seen the end of owen's finale. like just the last five minutes. because oooooooohhhhhh) and the majority of everyone else just gets to chill. like. scott does no killing of any of the culpable people. I do love the idea/hc/fact that really avid changed scott so much that he didn't take revenge like he would perhaps have done. that it was because of avid that he didn't kill them. i like that...irony? is the word irony?

oh gods i. that. 'scott bleeding out in the same place louis was burnt at the stake.' I have never so much as considered that but holy fuck the. the parallels we could have had. the two like root sires of all the vampires. dying in the same place. arguably both for love. i. you are a genius. that is going to be floating around in my head for a hot minute i tell you

it always amazes me that vampires is an improvised smp. improvised. beyond the characters none of that was scripted. it was like the second smp i'd ever watched, after life series, and the sheer difference between them i am so much in awe. there's. obviously it leads to the silly little things like sausage writing twilight but also the lines some of them come up with. even the more comedic ones. owen's incredible ominous monologues, in particular, just awe me when i sit back and remember he is coming up with that himself out of thin air.

the vampires fandom is incredible and i have so much love for it, and yes vsmp really does provide so many good aspects for fans and fan-creators to work off of, it's overall just an awesome community.

but yes indeed we are in the same very happy and not at all tragic or sad boat called 'being slightly obsessed with vampires smp'. that good old boat.

avids character. god. like I actually can't. they make me wanna claw my insides out cause what the actual fuck. sometimes, I just have to remind myself that this is very much a role play smp and it's not that big a deal. BUT IT IS A BIG DEAL. there are two wolves inside of me, and they both want to write fanfiction about tragic little gay people.

also... hadestown au? fuck yes.

I have not seen owens finale sadly :( BUT i will be watching all of owens POV as soon as I get time. no spoilerssss.

it definitely does annoy me that the ending was a bit anticlimactic in this regard, like, let the man kill someone, please 🙏 but the scenes are insanely cool and overall just some really good cinematic stuff aswell cause what do you mean he built him a grave. what do you mean this 1400 year old vampire caught feelings for a fucking vampire hunter, then swore to kill their murderers. WHAT. do you mean.

the word is irony, yes. ...i think. probably. but truly everyone else in this fandom can spout about how you're not allowed to ship avid and scott's characters because theyre toxic, and it's like, 1. it's fanfiction, why does canon matter T-T and 2. bestie I'm in the MARAUDERS fandom, toxic ships are my best friend, and canon universe? never heard of her.

but anyway, THEY ADD SO MUCH TO EACHOTHERS CHARACTER it's actually insane. I don't care how toxic it is, it's so good. and the fact that avids character (and shelby's) had changed him so much it kinda set in motion the turning point of scotts character, it's so good and it gives so much opportunity for fan works.

I feel like if the whole series was set over a longer period of time, like the canon universe, then there would be a lot more opportunity for both character development and some kind of planned scenes, but what can you expect with unplanned role play 💀

the lines were improvised. IMPROVISED. "2,799" was improvised. "I'll make sure to kill them for you" was improvised. "I don't think you're a vampire, but you have all the makings of a monster within you" was improvised. "You really think you can get away with lying to me?" was improvised. Ren's bloody accent. ITS ALL IMPROVISED. Sausage wrote Twilight for fucks sake T-T

owen's performance is actually diabolical. you're telling me he somehow came up with these dramatic villain lines that you could practically do in-depth character analysis on and came up with a tragic backstory?? the man's a powerhouse.

comparing vampires to the life series is genuine whiplash. it's actually so funny. I've never really compared the smps I've watched till I started watching bannerfall and all I could think of was rats and empires scott. so. that made me giggle.

the fandom is so so incredible, sure we're going through some shit rn, but like this is a part of what's keeping me alive 🙏 man i love fandom spaces.
