green eyes roll back in her head as he stated she was incorrect in her statement, fingers reaching forward to grasp against the t-shirt he’d previously pulled from his frame. “whatever helps you sleep at night, tuck.” having found a patch of t-shirt that was yet to be plastered in blood, a harsh tug against the material rips of a stretch of the material. “devastatingly sexy?” a soft chuckle earned from her lips at the words— all the while she’d began to shove herself back to her feet, approaching the waves that had been spilling up onto the sand threateningly close to the duo. “you hopin’ your rugged, post-war, post-plane crash looks will earn you a little bit of sympathy sex?” brows wiggle tauntingly in his direction, having partly ducked down to soak the material before nimble fingers begin to wring it out. “next thing i know you’ll be prying on naive girls and telling them stories of where you got all those scars— making yourself out to be a big tough guy.” dropping back to the sand by his side, one hand comes to push some of the unruly curls from his forehead, all so she could bring the damp material up in attempts to clean his wound.
tucker watched teegan’s eyes sparkle again, and he actually grinned. despite the devastation around him, teegan had always been able to pull a softer side out of him. he would do anything to see those glistening gemstones of her eyes.
he handed over the tee shirt, and she shredded it into pieces easily, rinsing them in the salt water. tucker’s smile actually grew, though the pounding in his head was growing from hammer to heavy machinery level. “i’ll have you know, i work very hard to maintain this rugged appeal. i have spent minutes, nay, hours, on curating this persona, and my dearest teegan, bali was going to get me laid.” she pushed his hair out of his face— longer than regulation, he’d been letting it grow out— and he held back the dark curls with one hand, leaning back on the other planted in the sand. “even if we all know that more than one of these scars has been because some punk kid sister couldn’t keep out of trouble.”
