Drawing tutorial person. Can you do how to draw the body, that’s the most trouble I have with
(aaaaa, sorry this took a while to answer!)
My biggest advice to you is to always use a reference! That’s what always helped me when I was first doodling bods! I also found it a lot easier to break the body into segments when I draw rather than trying to sketch it out all at once (if that makes sense?). Like, I usually start with the shoulders and torso first and foremost. I won’t draw the arms or legs just yet because if I have a weird torso, then everything else would turn out awkward, you know?
So! Pick a reference/pose that you want to doodle:
Look and get a feel of how the torso works in tandem with the neck and shoulders. How do the shoulders work in tandem to the pectorals (yes, this is something that I actually pay attention to, haha XD)? Try to understand the relationship those four have with each other because they’ll end up as guidelines for your arms! When you do that, you might end up with a sketch like this:
Once you get a feel of the torso, you gotta connect it to the arm! Follow the shoulders for help!
A little hint about arms: the “curve” of it (like, where the elbow is) is usually in line with the curve of the torso! The hand usually rests just above the middle of the thigh.
Regarding legs, I honestly just eyeball the proportions. I can’t tell you the exact length it has to be, but I think the calf and thigh are the same length as each other. All I know for sure is that they are longer than the torso (if they are teens/adults. kids have stubbier legs that are similar to torso length). Sorry I can’t say much more about legs! It’s the one part of the body that I truly just guess on (I tend to make this the simplest part of my bodies since it finishes pictures quicker ^^;)
That kind of wraps everything that I have to say about bodies. Hopefully this is helpful (even though it wasn’t as detailed as I hoped it would be ;;). Just remember to keep using references, segment it and understand how everything works together. I wish you luck!
