Anivia’s Hatchday!
This is going to be short, but today, the 10th of July, is officially Anivia's release date! So, game-wise, she's 10 years old now.
((I JUST REALIZED THIS BUT…
QUINN IS NO LONGER THE ONLY CHAMPION WHOSE NAME STARTS WITH A Q!!!))
Considering Morde’s rework...
((Sorry for my sudden absence, but I’ve been really busy and I sadly won’t be very active for the next few weeks, BUT I will work on the threads when I can, but they will be slow! So, if I still owe you a reply, I will get to yours eventually.))
A series of headcanon asks to delve more in-depth with what makes the muses tick! Questions range from the obscure to the obvious so as to dig further into a muse’s life and habits.
Be sure to specify muses for multi-muse blogs!
Coral Fragments: How well does your muse deal with stress? Do they do anything in particular to help them deal with it, and if so what do they do?
Rosy Fog: What are their immediate views on romantic love?
Rosy Haze: Do they react well when they develop feelings for someone and if not why?
Rosy Touch: How do they show affection nonverbally? Are they likely to show affection with their words as well?
Apatite Chatter: Are they the friendly sort or do they prefer to let others start off interactions with them?
Apatite Tic: Does your muse have any sort of verbal tics or impediments?
Garnet Shadows: Is your muse apt to stab someone in the back in any way? If so, would they admit to doing so or would they lie to cover it up?
Garnet Shine: How devoted are they to their loved ones? Would this devotion delve into the obsessive side?
Garnet Core: What sorts of things would they be willing to do for friends? For family? For their significant other(s)?
Amethyst Terrors: Are their nights plagued with past memories or nightmares in general? What do they usually entail if so?
Amethyst Calm: How do they usually sleep, in what position? Do they like plenty of pillows, blankets and/or plush toys?
Makeshift Stone: What does their internet search history usually include? Are there any parts of their searches that they’re embarrassed by?
Cracked Cement: Are they adept at using technology of any kind or do they typically need help with it?
Brickwork Shadows: Is your muse good with their hands, or do they tend to be fairly clumsy?
Sapphire Depths: Do they prefer to think ahead or to leap right in and wing things?
Sapphire Beacon: What kinds of things inspire your muse and does your muse tend to inspire others?
Selenite Pillars: Does your muse think they’re mentally or physically strong? Is this belief true or only something the muse believes to be true?
Aventurine Calling: Do they believe in luck? If so, would they consider themselves lucky or unlucky?
Fluorite Cloud: If they had the opportunity, would they prefer to know what’s going to happen in the future or not? Why?
Fluorite Bearings: How strongly do they listen to their intuition? Is their intuition usually correct or incorrect?
Peridot Ghosts: What kind of things get them frazzled or anxious? Do they tend to handle them well or get swept up in the moment?
Moonstone Luster: Are there are any items they own that have sentimental value to them?
Diamond Kiss: What kind of clothing and accessories do they prefer to wear? Are there are any particular reasons outside of general comfort that they like wearing these?
Coal Dust: Can they withstand manual labor? Do they avoid manual labor as much as possible, and if so, why?
Prehnite Memory: How good is their memory? Has it always been like this or did something happen to make it this way?
Bismuth Hue: Are they sickly or get sick often?
Bismuth Aid: What sort of medication, if any do they have to take, if any? Do they refuse to take it, forget to take it, or do they prefer to keep on it?
Quartz Cluster: What kind of textures (e.g. silky, rough, slick, etc) do they prefer?
Jade Ambition: How ambitious is your muse and what are their current goals? To what ends will they go to to make those wishes a reality?
Jade Gain: How well do they manage their money?
Amazonite Comfort: What sorts of things bring your muse comfort in trying times? Are there any habits they have when things get difficult to help cope?
Amazonite Shade: Are they pessimistic, optimistic or somewhere in the middle? Was there anything that happened to them in their life that caused them to think in this way?
Topaz Storm: Is your muse the creative type in any way? How do they usually express their creativity?
Topaz Tears: Do they have any sort of outlet they use as a means to cope (e.g. writing, drawing, playing music, etc.)? How’d they get into it if they do?
Topaz Calling: Do they have anything that they have natural talent in? If so do they enjoy doing it or is it something they tend to forget about?
Ruby Craze: Are they a passionate person or do they tend to be more down-to-earth?

Opal Wonder: How big is their imagination? Do they tend to share these ideas or keep them to themselves?
Opal Sky: Do they tend to get lost in their own thoughts/daydreams?
Sorry for the lack of activity stress and anxiety having the best of me for the moment :(

Tiny Bird!Anivia wishes you well from her tiny perch!
free as a bird in budapest
It might not be such a huge thing, but I just discovered that Anivia might be missing a joint.
And here is my proof.
If we look at her model and compare that to the wing of a bird, then at first, there might not be such a big difference.
The general shape more or less matches.
But, if I compare hers to the skeletal structure of a bird’s wing, the elbow appears!
Here is another comparison.
The black line represents the body and the red ones form the “arm”.
Basically almost all animals, with the exception of insects, snakes, etc, follow the same build plan considering the joints of the arm: shoulder, elbow and wrist.
It’s just not very visible with birds since the feathers hide it all. The same doesn’t apply to Anivia because she does not have an extra layer covering her whole body. Heck, she doesn’t even have any internal structures, she’s litterally hollow inside!
Here are some more pictures.
I highlighted the joints with the green circles.
So, Anivia is essentially missing her shoulders or possibly her elbows.
...
I don’t know which one is worst, but it’s sort of disturbing.

Interesting. So, his only requirement for being classified as a god is either having the ability to live forever and still be vulnerable to death or simply not being able to die? If she were to follow his reasoning then, yes, she would indeed be considered a “god” (she still felt uneasy thinking about it this way). But, she more or less was immortal, even for the more generalized standards, provided that her egg remained unscathed.
Hmm. But that would make him a god as well. Would that imply that he was to kill himself as well? She couldn’t fathom why anyone, god or no god, would want to destroy themselves for simply being considered a celestial being? Wasn’t that the duty of the one who was responsible for ending lives on this world? It did not make sense to her. Perhaps, she mused, it had something to do with his twisted and corrupted aura?
The only cases where creatures had resisted their fate were some stray beings from her world who hadn’t wanted to end when they had lived their full lifespan. When their time had come, they had struggled against their inevitable fate, sending spikes of hatred and fury towards her. She couldn’t comprehend why they had targeted her. She was only carrying out the duty she had been given with no regards to favoritism. Even she herself wasn’t spared. Maybe it had been less frequent, but she had dutifully refolded herself when she knew her end approached.
But as far as she remembered, she had unfolded herself not too long ago. The next cycle was still far in the future, so why would this being take it upon himself execute her refolding? The confusion was visible in her body language.
“If that is your sole requirement, then I would indeed be considered a, god, as you have put, but, tell me, why would you concern yourself with my lifecycle? As far as I can recall, my last refolding had occurred fairly recently, so there would be no reason for you to be involved in my rebirth.”

A worried gleam reflected off her ruby eyes. This human was clearly hurt and needed help. Why would he-
Suddenly a dark… presence made itself known, seeping through the cracks of his aura. It was difficult to distinguish, but she could sense that it was a separate entity that had somehow managed to attach(?) itself to his essence. It didn’t belong there, but why was it still here? Was he not able to expel it from his person before?
Despite the overwhelming fatigue, her crest and the pointed protrusions framing her face still rose sharply in response to the rising level of danger, but the moment she noticed it, she forced them to lower. However, she wasn’t able to make them lay completely flat again, the compulsion to keep a safe distance was too strong. She reflexively lifted her wings a little from their lowered position, trying to resist the urge to immediately take off.
She had no way of knowing when this…separate being would attack or try to harm her already relatively fragile body, but she wasn’t willing to just leave him alone, like the human had suggested. What would he be able to do on his own when he was this damaged?
Suddenly an idea popped into her head. Perhaps he knew any other humans who might be able to assist him? If so, then hopefully, they would be able to help him further when she couldn’t really do anything for him with her awkward size. Compared to her, he was no bigger than one of her claws, after all.
“Please excuse me, but like I have stated before, I am not willing to leave someone who might have needed my help. But seeing as I am not able aid you anymore directly, I must ask you if you have any acquaintances who might be able to help you in your state.”
If he did, then she could guide them here, or if they weren’t able to get to him, she would be forced to transport him herself, even with his severe wounds and dark entity housing within him.

She held her damaged limb away from her body, trying to will it to heal faster, but to no avail. The acid-like substance ate faster through the paper than she could generate them, threatening to fully dissolve her wing. In contrast to the dire situation of that appendage, the torn paper along her chest was repairing itself quite quickly, only the middle part of the tear remaining unclosed.
She lowered herself to a sitting position, trying to conserve energy in order to direct it to her wing, just in time to catch his words. Help? She wasn’t sure if a human could directly aid her in this situation. He didn’t even know her and vice versa. She had no way of knowing his intentions, but regarding her current situation, she might be forced to trust him eventually.
“I…” She blanked out. What had happened? The moment she tried to recall anything, nothing surfaced. Only flashes of all-consuming pain rippling through her body and the sharp, unforgiving wind rushing past her, further damaging the paper.
“I… I can’t… remember?” Her core spiked in response to the rush of panic she felt, little tendrils of energy lashing out, uncontained by her damaged chest. How was it possible that she just lost her memories of the past events?! No, she couldn’t afford to lose her grip on her emotions now, not in front of this unfamiliar human. Forcing her magic to calm, she turned to the human to answer his second question.
“Well, I am unsure what you might be able to do in order to assist me," Her body trembled in pain, the quiet sound of soft rustling paper filled the air around her, like opening a book and letting the pages flutter past your fingers while skimming through the text, "However, why do you offer your assistance to something like me?" Despite the burning sensation of the irreversibly damaged wing, she still needed to know why he wished to help her, while seemingly wanting nothing in return.
Her kin mostly communicated through sensations and feelings, emotions, to get their message across, so if this one was going to lie, she would be able to detect it in his aura. If she was going to attempt her seemingly inevitable plan, she had to be absolutely sure of his personality, what kind of person she was facing right now and what he was planning to do with her, should she trust him, even though he had not shown her any hostile behavior from the start.

Jarvan frowned softly as he listened to her speak - while indeed, it was hardly a secret that his people feared displays of magic, things once had been different. Once. In a world where Sylas had not escaped from his prison (which Jarvan felt was entirely understandable - a desire to escape when one had once been held against one’s will). In a world where he had not resorted to such violent means to spread his ideals, perhaps…
It was then that he came across an idea. A compromise, of sorts, and an opportunity for Anivia to see the grand capital of Demacia without causing - well. As much distress as would certainly be elicited if she were to openly walk amongst the people.
“What if you were to fly over the capital, and see for yourself what life in the city is like? I would be more than happy to speak to you of my people, too.” He smiled, heart swelling with pride as he spoke of his people and his kingdom. He loved both wholeheartedly, and felt inspired always to do his best for them, whether it was in preparation for the day he one day would be elected to rule, or in more simpler duties such as now, introducing his people to a being ignorant of the wonders of his nation.
“…I would love to get to know you better, too!”
She slowly brought her head further down while he spoke, trying catch his words. Something else she had noticed upon arriving on this world, was the fact that she was unable to hear the sounds the small beings made from her normal sitting position. So, she had to adjust to their size, lowering her head to roughly their level. It was a risky maneuver. After all, not all of these humans seemed to have a positive attitude when faced with something as large as her and she did not have enough experience to gauge their intentions from solely their facial expressions. Luckily for her, she could gather from this conversation that this one didn’t bear any ill will towards her. In fact, he seemed calm and somewhat… elated(?) in her presence.

I had the chance to visit the OrigamiUSA library while I was in NYC and had a field day. Also being able to fold Robert Lang designs is kind of a dream come true.
