A Dying Old man finds an injured Kitsune. With his last days a life, he nurses her back to health and as payment for saving her life, Request she trains and cares for his little grandson, a weakling with the soul of a warrior.
100 years after, the young man had become a mountain of a man, slayer of a hundred beasts, known all throughout the world for the battles he fought. He walks up the hill to his grandfather's grave and lays down a bouquet of flowers. The kitsune sheds her disguise and offers a quiet apology that she wasn't able to give his grandson the glory his soul was destined for, taking a flower from the bouquet and laying it down at the grave next to the Grandfather's. "Eric Stockport, the hero whose heart had failed." The clink of armour came from behind her. "Didn't think you were one for sentiment, old lady." The grandson, Eric, with skin stained black and armour so caked in dry blood that its true colour was obscured entirely, commented from behind her. "Don't speak in that voice. You lost the right to it when you called those children beasts." She replied, drawing her blade.
