Ah, Stephanie Brown, near and dear to my heart. 

Now, in Pre52, Steph was victim to a lot of sexist, awful writing, particularly surrounding War Games. That event featured: a female Robin who was fired after making one mistake even though all her male predecessors made hundreds, Steph being tortured with sexual undertones for like three issues by Black Mask who insinuated that Bruce kept her around as a fucktoy, Steph being blamed for the whole mess despite not receiving adequate intel necessary for a Robin (including the identity of Catwoman what the hell), Steph being killed off and then ignored by Tim and Bruce including not receiving a memorial in the Cave, Steph being used as a source of angst for Bruce–and I could go on. 

However, throughout that shitshow of an event, Steph was recognizable as Steph, even when she was beaten bloody (torture TW) or on the verge of death. 

New52 Steph seems to be a different character altogether, on many points. It makes no sense to me, since Steph is a fan-favorite, why they’d change her this much, but they did. I’ll focus on my top three issues.
